if its just for shading colours, I always use a light purple and put the layer on multiply (of course, the shading layer on a different layer then the base layer)

When in doubt, use what other people use. Slowly develop your own color sense from there.

I just choose colors that I think will look good, there's no trick behind it I don't know what you want me to answer

How do I see the blend options in sai? It wont let me edit the blending, dilution, or persistence...All it shows me is density and size..

Did you make pen tool or a brush ? My line art brush is a brush, maybe pen tools don't show blending ? Other then that, I don't know sorry

Was wrong with default blacc, if you donβt mind me asking? I might adopt this rule.
Also, can this be translated into FireAlpaca?

as a person who used both sai and FireAlpaca before, yes!But I think you'd have to play with the brushes a little.

there are drawings that work really well with pitch black usage, so there isn't anything wrong with it
but I always use a lighter colour to make it appear a little softer and blend more with the color, that's also why I used a dark blue,, if the colors we're a lot of yellows for example I would use a dark red,, you can say I use it as part of the colourscheme - sorry if it doesn't make sense, I'm not really good at explaining and Im not English haha
((I don't know if it can be translated to FireAlpaca- I don't know the program))

Ah. I gotcha. So you have to use a really dark color that contrasts somewhat the color you're using?
Damn. Was hoping it would, but oh well.

it feels weird to say you have to haha- since anyone can do whatever they want with art of course
but that's what I do, at least
