What style of drawing is that?? I've been wanting to do drawings like that but have never been able to find the name for it.

I didn't mean the watercolor. I meant the actual drawing that you started out with. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm 97.2% sure its a style called manga.
The art itself is manga (duh) but when used in films or cartoons (so when its 'animated') it is called anime. It's a popular Japanese style of art

Whoo~ Awesome!
So Jun Mochizuki uses salt, and not a computer to to all the weird molted stuff <3
and the straw splatters are really interesting, as is the water dripping and then blotting dry effect.
Thanks a lot for this tutorial !! ^^

Love it! We practiced watercolor techniques today in art class, and are making a painting with all 9 techniques we went over. This will surely help! (except we have some type of crayon instead of masking fluid)

What a simple yet essential tutorial! As a fellow watercolor person ( though not a very good one XD) I can see you really have a lot of fun playing with your techniques and colors.... I should really try our Ecoline with water drops someday. The effects were really awesome.
Btw, our teachers had a small tip regarding how to protect the brush you use for masking fluid: before using, coat your brush with some thin soapy water. This will make cleaning easier later and prolonged the brushes lifespan.
Danke for the awesome tutorial!

Thank you! Also for the tip with the soap water. I usually just clean the masking fluid brushes with it after using, but have never tried coating my brush with soap water before using. I will definitely try this at some point. :]

This is absolutely useful!
I'm a interested watercolor 'noob' who always wanted to understand how to control the color on ze water and how it worked. And this was very, very helpful, including the cool techniques from a super cool artist! Seriously, I'm very happy I found this. I've tried searching up tutorials before, but they didn't really mention all of this or didn't answer my questions.
I must go be super happy now.

haha thank you! I'm glad it's helpful. Though I found many other really useful watercolor tutorials on dA already. You can try look in a watercolor group, they often have extra folders where they collect them.
