[ Emelle Solin ] (Emmy)

Name is pronounced 'E' as in 'Eeeeew' and 'melle' as in 'smell'. Of course she doesn't smell bad.. actually she smells like spring flowers! .D

Emmy is the daughter of a man who had worked in numerous branches of the White Market. He had been transferred around since she was five, due to a reason she hadn't understood until recently. It turns out her father's company has a rival, the Black Market, and as her father's position is constantly being in danger of bankruptcy he was forced to move to other options. This had proceeded to happen for the past five years.

This in turn forced Emmy's family to move locations seven times in those years. Her mother has a medical condition which requires the father to be near for emergencies while maintaining a busy work schedule.

Which leads to Emmy's dilemma: In her constantly changing life she starts to feel insecure about her future. She is already starting to feel less attached to her newer friends, aware at any time she might or not have to say goodbye again.

With that in mind, she has decided to try and make things right by putting the responsibility of the world financial system in her hands, for her parents and her own sake.

Personality: It's always hard to be sure what her real personality is like. In front of her father's colleagues, she is graceful and 'mature'. Near her mother's friends she is talkative and endearing. Around her own friends she is just like any other girl in town. But when it comes to meeting all of them at the same time, she displays a balanced mix of different persona that allows her to communicate without being labeled a 'fake'.

Of course to her, any persona she puts on IS real. It's just something that came to be after meeting so many different people all the time.

She had always put on her most honest expressions, but in this tournament this 'skill' is one of the few things she can depend on. Studying her opponents from their looks and communication, she will put on an appropriate face. Despite this shady nature, she will avoid lying (because her mum says it's bad) and would rather speak in a misleading type manner.

Due to her lifestyle she is also a fast learner and very quick to adapting in situations. Although she knows a lot of things from browsing the internets and reading books, she doesn't fancy reading about politics or today's very financial crisis that lead to her joining the tournament. She may be a little unprepared..

Likes: Rose, sweets, chocolate, reading, Rose, ice cream, playgrounds, cartoons, animals, Rose, and Rose.

Dislikes: Lying, the dark, politics related things, dentist.

Fears:

Fighting: Obviously a 10 year old wouldn't fare well against big guys with swords (unless helped with a dose of anime ), so instead of fighting head on it's more likely she'll scram and find useful things to do the fighting for her. Emmy might also learn something from her opponents, and use that instead.

This also means she is extremely dependent on her location. Put her in a sandy desert and she's screwed, maybe ...

Other: Her carbon nanotube cables were the first successful production of a material of its type, developed when her father was in the industrial chemistry office. It is made from highly complex structures of carbon molecules in a way that gave it amazing tensile strength and conducting/insulating properties. The two cables she carries were experimental, and was given to her father as a parting gift.

Her mother's bag was the first and only domestic product created from this technology, since it was still too costly for mass production.

Emmy used to play often on the school playground, especially in the jungle gym.

Emmy occasionally sees her dad at work, usually to give him the lunch he forgets to bring. Sometimes she will take interest in what her father does and he will tell her things about his work (which varies time to time). Some topics include how to work power generators, how to use microscopes, how to use forklifts...

[ Rose ]

Rose is a Crimson Rosella. Despite his name, he is also male.

Emmy can't recall how she first found him, but he's been with her ever since she was five. Rose is a bit different from other Rosella in the way he behaves and follows Emmy around. Not only that, but he seems able to communicate with other animals as well with Emmy herself, but only her. He will gladly give Emmy a hand wing with chores and this tournament is no exception.

Besides his loyalty to Emmy, he also loves the occasional treat and would do anything to get his feet on some scooby snacks sunflower seeds.

And here's my ref sheet for *MonochromeMarkets ! It was actually mostly done about mid last December but the trip to Melbourne put me off for the time. Of course I'm not complaining about going there, always good to see old friends!

Anyway, you could tell my style is pretty wobbly now that I tried drawing a young person. The age range I usually stick to is mid-teens and this will be a good time to practice younger characters. AND speaking of younger characters, there seems to be quite a few in this tournament!

Unlike my first tourney's OC (which was a fantasy magical swordsgirl type thing XD), this character HEAVILY depends on environment. Since I heard competitors won't get to choose their locations, this will get a little tricky! Looking forward to it! .D;;
