Um what? and why? the idea itself makes no sense, why would he be so worried about the joker? he'd take him to a hospital then leave... unless he actually needed him for information or something of the sort.

It goes with a story. But that's basically the idea. He doesn't want to kill the Joker, but he can't let him go, and he just doesn't want to deal with the whole thing at all.
