Thanks my friend! I was playing around with angles in my original sketch, and kept much of them in the finished piece. As for knees, well, you know I really do like painting them!

On a technical note, what kind of brushes do you use? Stock or custom?

Awesome work as usual. Those hands are awesome and very brave using angles in the female form but you pulled it off beautifully.

Thanks man! In my case 2010 has to be an improvement over 2009, and hoping it is for you too.
As for technical stuff - I use 2 bog standard brushes in photoshop pretty much exclusively - soft for gradient tones and hard brush for sharper edges and thats pretty much it for most things..
and yeah, angles on the female form can be a bit tricky, but in this case I hope the softer grades in the colouring took some of the 'edge' out of it.
