I've felt like this a bit lately….Based on a magazine illustration I did recently… changed it a bit and then painted in a bunch of stuff from my desk. Ignore the wildy inaccurate perspective work… it looked quirky and charming in my original sketch but now its starting to bother me...
Things to know.
• this is about the 7th or 8th time I've painted the plastic skull on my desk… and yes, I have a plastic skull on my desk.
• no, that isn't really me…. I have a goatee and don't dribble as much when I drink.
• painting multiple drinking cans is less fun than you might think.
• dinosaurs on the other hand are awesome!

Hey Dave.... that is brilliant. Love how tight you get your images. Those pencil sketches are a nice touch, I had to dig out the magnifying glass for further study.

The stuff IS evil... and I try to limit it as much as possible.
Actually trying to kick the stuff totally... but cant stand coffee and sometimes you need to stay awake during those crazy 80 hr working weeks

There are natural alternatives that you can take that can keep you awake.
Guarana for example is one of those among few others.
Inquire with stores that sell health food products or check the internet for suppliers near you. It might work for you or it might not but at least give it a try and see how you feel. Personally, I used to take it when I couldn't get enough sleep during the day as I work at night but I must be super sensitive to any kind of caffeine as it started to give me palpitations after few months regular use but at the beginning it was great.
