Description
Starting my own 'How fast is your spaceship?' week of scifi nerdiness. Today, Star Wars...What can I say, I love my scifi!
Pencil, ink on paper, Paint in photoshop.
EDIT: Fixed the spelling of 'Millennium' (d'oh!) and added the parsec disclaimer. If only George Lucas had put one in in his movie

The Ford logo and the Bad Robot in the background are a nice touch. Asterix made me giggle. Nice work.

About the βparsec controversyβ, itβs fun to note that Lucas gave a scientific explanation to it: distances are shortened as starships fly fast near black holes where time and distances are distortedβ¦ so the fastest ship is the one that shortened ranges the most ! (read that on some Star Wars Wiki but donβt know if itβs true )

I do like Pitch Black but I had forgotten about the deck chairs... so not a conscious reference, no.

The Ford logo on Han's vest reminds me:Β I learned back in the 70s truckers had a codename for that brand..."Fix Or Repair Daily".Β Sounds like the Millenium Falcon.Β Love how you have Bad Robot as the mechanic too.

Not sure how good Bad Robot will be at repairs though
The one I heard was FORD... Found On Road Dead, but then my dad and his friend were always ribbing each other about their choices in cars and I heard a lot of those
Cheers!

"Found On Roads Dead"...I'm familiar with that phrase too.Β My late dad always said that about GM cars because he had more trouble with them than with Ford cars...but after his last Ford had mechanical issues, he switched to Honda.

Chemie is friggin amazing, I love the circular highlight you added. Β Along with the amazing drawing and rendering skills you have, plus the humor its the details you add to a piece which make them more amazing, it makes viewing them a 'wheres Wally' type affair which I adore lol

Thanks Glen! I too first saw Star Wars IV at the theatre... but I lose all geek cred points when I explain it was the Special Edition version that came out in the late 90's and I've never actually seen a version where Solo shoots first!
