Description
New issue of Agent X9 "Warlords of phoenix" Modesty story and the second cover I did for the magazine (first one here [link] ) Its just hitting the streets in Sweden so I have permission to post it.Big Modesty Blaise fan, so it was really great to get another go at a cover - a few more of them and I might start getting a real handle on the character

Do you use reference when you workout your painting! and if so do you shoot your own photo ref?

The more realistic I want a picture, the more important reference is. If I could, I'd love to shoot reference for everything - it really makes working SO much easier and quicker, but often its a case of taking my original drawing and then hunting down scraps from books, magazines etc to get that extra bit of detail that I cant work out for myself, right. This pic though, I had the services of my fabulous friend, who not only can swing a mean sword, but looks a bit like Modesty herself.

Wow! that's very similar to the way i work! I have to dig through my photo file and gather together as best i can the photos that have similar lighting. I to wish i could take my own photos too

Dumbell shoulder presses is the secret. Gives the shoulder good size and tone.

Jag köpte det här numret direkt när jag såg vem det var som hade gjort omslaget. Herrejäklars vad snyggt det är.
Hoppas att du och dem på Agent X-9 kommer fortsätta jobba tillsammans, för jag har inee sett så här bra omslag på...jag vet inte hur länge.

Thanks! Usually Modesty is drawn in her signature black top and pants, but in this story she wears white a bit too, and it really helped make her stand out from the background.
