Description
I have a confession to make⦠I'm a sucker for quirky micro cars. While others are welcome to enjoy their sports cars, SUV's, 4x4's or minivans, I like my cars tiny, somewhat underpowered and just a little temperamental.
Recently purchased a 2006 smart fortwo and it amused me that if I applied a logical sequence to the shapes of the cars I have owned over the years, the next one would, in fact, be spherical.
Of course I had to design it and draw up my old carsβ¦.
Pencil sketches - painted in photoshop.

I don't see a lot of Smart cars around when driving, but strangely enough there are 3 smart cars (including mine) in the small country town I live in - but there are also a lot of SUV's and 4 wheel drives too.

I love minicars too and ur attempt to draw this comes outside any kind of expectation, which seeing ur work already, couldn't even be a bit bad. But aside the marvellous drawing I am not sure if this logical and coherent prediction means anything good so far. To me, cars stopped really evolving in the 80's, and they have just kept getting more "crystal spires and togas"+"everything is an Ipod in the future", and actually are becoming "Aesetic Aesthetic", which is delusionally dystopic to me.
All of those are Tv tropes tropes. Names, look for it if u dunno what I mean.Β
In brief words, cars have already become delusional shitty vehicles of dystopian PVC

Its funny that with advances in car prototyping (which should facilitate a faster from prototype to on the road product) you would expect greater variety and diversity in cars, but it seems to be just the opposite. Maybe one day we will get away from this 'minimalist' approach to it all, but its not looking good at the moment!
Thanks for checking out my work and taking time to comment btw!
Cheers.

I guess a daihatsu Copen would be close to perfect for you. (And I think it's quite pretty as well. I'm a fan of japanese kei cars (had a few Subaru Liberos [or domingo, or Dias, or whatever they're called elsewhere] - Just love 'em

Yup - cheap car and cheap to run. Didn't fare well when a motorcylist hit it from behind though. Motorbike had slightly twisted handle bars, but the Matiz was totalled!

Argh! Similar thing when I hit a smartcar with my bicycle: Smart needed a new Front panel, bicycle: not a scratch. Yet the dentist I just came from did more damage to my face than the crash

There's something new on the market, which comes pretty close to the car at the right: The Renault Twizy. www.renault.co.uk/cars/electri⦠But I don't know if they sell it in Australia.

I won't be holding my breathe about it being available here though... we don't seem to import many tiny electric cars here in Australia.
