Description
Once again dealing with the important scifi question... how fast is your spaceship? Number 7, the Event Horizon. Love the design of the ship, but you could never get me to fly on itPencil/ink. Paint in photoshop.

I've been stuck in Cleethorpes over a wet bank-holiday weekend in February with three kids under 5 and a car-sick dog... a trip on the Event Horizon would be a luxury cruise in comparison.

Eeerk! Yeah, that'll do for a definition of hell! I'm sure you develop a facial tick everytime you think about it!!!

Nope.. 1000 yard stare and a grim determination to never do anything like that again... I've had 'Nam vets buy me beers with that story.

Event Horizon, or perhaps more accurately, what happens in Warhammer 40,000 if a ship goes through the Warp unshielded for any great length of time. xD

I was going to paint that exact thing a few years back, but too many people had already done photo-manipulation versions out there... I really shouldn't google stuff and just paint things anyway

Sorry - I thought you meant a picture of the Kardashians as Cardassians (alien race from Deep Space Nine).
Its really late over here, so I was probably very vague

I knew the Kardashians had to be from another dimension.Β Kim's dimensions simply don't fit into our space-time.Β Wow, you even managed to throw in all the Matrix and Jurassic Park movies.Β This might qualify as its own IMDb.com page.

Loopydave In reply to Gladiot [2014-12-22 07:30:42 +0000 UTC]
Hahaha! Not sure IMDb is ready for that kind of mashup. My faith in humanity has been partially restored after seeing that 'Keeping up with the Kardashians' rates a 2.8/10 on their site though. Still ranking 2.8 marks too high for me, but we have to make allowances for the fact that we live in a world where people need warning labels to tell them to use before expiration date and that things will be hot after heating.

"Kind of like watching Keeping up with the Kardashians!"
Spot F/king on!!!!
And it will get worse - "Neo will save us" - or God forbid Kanye "I am so GREAT!!" West.
At that point I would gladly jump into the abyss with Mr Neil and all his raptors
Quality humour and skill again sir- bless your existence

the ship has boobs! Β -->Β www.modelermagic.com/wordpressβ¦
as does she ...! -->Β plissken.free.fr/Covers/B/Battβ¦Β (Now that's an 80's space costume if ever there was one.)
and the whole thing is just a rip of the seven samurai/magnificent 7 so heaps of material in that as well to spoof

Its been a long time since I've seen that one! Don't remember it making any reference to speed or propulsion methods though, which makes it kind of difficult. May watch it again and see. I have an old cheesy scifi gag already, but I'm saving that one for 'Flash Gordon'

kato42 In reply to Loopydave [2014-12-22 10:02:02 +0000 UTC]
Short version is that FTL travel is done by traveling through Warp space. And just like in Event Horizon it is really bad, a hell dimension. Without the protective shield called the 'Geller Field', things like in the movie - and worse - can happen. And sometimes happen even with it.
I found the parralels interesting, so it amuses me to think of them as the same universe, just at different point in history.
