Description
Details from [link] . The whole painting was quite loose for me and I made no effort to 'hide' the brush strokes. This isn't really obvious at the smaller size, so I thought I'd post a 1:1 of the hand from the picture just in case someone was interested in taking a peek.Click on it for proper size.

Quite a few people were commenting on it, so I thought I'd post a more detailed shot. When I post a giant shot of a nostril you will know that peoples obsessions have taken a turn for the strange and peculiar .

Is quite impressive because, from distance, it looks photo-realistic.
Great!

I'm sure I wasn't the onliest one that mentioned the brilliant details in her hand,... but still i think I might've had a hand in making u realize it could be cool to show it like this
also, (just wondering) ... I don't know if you were joking about riding a unicycle, earlier,... but, THAT's one of my hidden talents

Yeah, I actually still have my unicylce in the garden shed - haven't ridden it in years. Never got the hang of juggling while riding it though. And yes you did have a 'hand' in my posting the detailed shot . Cheers my friend!

NO WAY !! ... That's so cool- we must live in a parallel universe,
and I always think about the juggling part too, but will probably
never do it ((seriously Dave))

God is in the details. Or is it the devil? Never quite worked that one out - maybe I should pay closer attention to the details than I do!!! Oh, and thank my friend!

Given that the details are so minute and well-done, how large is the original piece?

Loopydave In reply to Chaosfive-55 [2009-11-16 23:06:09 +0000 UTC]
Around 3700 pixels high, which is a bit smaller than I usually work. Cheers man.

You must forgive me, I am a 14th century man who deals in inches! You didn't draw this by hand?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Loopydave In reply to Chaosfive-55 [2009-11-16 23:23:14 +0000 UTC]
Drawn with pencil on an A4 piece of paper, scanned into the computer' at around 450dpi, which means in photoshop the file was approximately 3700 pixels high.
3700 pixels translates roughly into:
9.25 inches at 400dpi (dots per inch)
12.3 inches at 300dpi
18.5 inches at 200dpi
and 51.3 inches at 72dpi (standard screen resolution)

Truly a master work.
