"On the contrary. It's a free country, and I, the great and powerful Moondancer, can do whatever I want. That means going as the best princess. Why care about the moody princess of some dusty old rock, when you could bask in the awe-inspiring radiance of the Sun?"
"But 'moon' is right there in your name, you butt! You only like Celestia 'cause she's the strongest!"
"Maybe. Nopony likes Luna."
"I like Luna!"
"Let me clarify. Nopony important likes Luna."

This is so cute! I can not get over how awesome and adorable these three look as princesses.
Though, I have to admit, I'm surprised Cupcake is Cadence, I figured that's more Magnolia's choice. Though when I think about it, I can see why Cupcake would choose Cadence.

I imagine Moondancer is indeed attracted to the power and awe that Celestia inspires. Unlike Luna, everyone ALWAYS loved Celestia. Luna was kind of.... Ignored for a while in the past... Hence the whole Nightmare Moon thing.... So I can kind of see why Moondancer wouldn't look up to that. He wants to be like Celestia I imagine. Powerful, loved by everypony, and seen as Objectively The Best Pony.
I imagine Pandora likes Luna because of the whole overcoming ponies fear's thing, because Luna WAS Nightmare Moon and then had to work after coming back to show ponies she was their Princess and wasn't going to eat their foals or whatever. I think Pandora definitely wants to be like that, since erm... The whole accidentally coming off as a terrifying child because overly powerful child is kind of scary afgdjklsnk;fak whoopsies.
I imagine Cupcake likes Cadence because well... Cadence is much more down to earth than the other princesses, and that strikes me as fitting Cupcake rather than some grand gesture. I think Cadence gets sliiiightly overlooked sometimes, because she doesn't represent power like the other Princesses do (well I think they do). I think Cupcake probably likes the Love thing too maybe.... :3

I mean, Mattel sells barbie dolls of Frida Kahlo, Bindi Irwin, and NASA scientist Katherine Johnson. I see no reason Equestria wouldn't sell prominent social figures as toys and costumes for children. :> Kids like role models, especially if they're pretty and pink.

Makes a lot of sense actually. I actually had a company sell ( low quality ) model kits of prominent figures in an RP, with one character refering to the one based on Discord as looking like a pile of random animal parts when unassembled. Other available kits at the time of the RP were Celestia andΒ Nightmare Moon ( really just Celestia molded in black plastic ).

Is the reason for the character's fav princesses because Moondancer wants to be respected and feel powerful, because Pan always feels ike the odd one out, and because Cupcake wants to be considered beautiful? Just a guess, sorry if it's wrong!
