Description
style experiment, playing around with how i draw anthros. Leaning more toward animal proportions than human this timehey blueblood remember that time you and fleur de lis fooled around and made an oopsie baby
well here's baby, oh heavens this is so sudden, how do you even hold one of these halp
even though you happily agreed to fork over your parental rights if Fleur and her hubby Fancy Pants agreed to raise the baby and stay hush hush about the whole affair/illegitimate child thing cuz who wants to deal with that am i right
well even though Fleur and Fancy don't like you much these days they thought it'd be nice to have you meet your daughter anyway, they named her Vogue
she's tiny and fuzzy and....kind of cute actually hmm this is unexpected
and oh look, she's got your blue eyes, wow, so bright and beautiful
and goodness, poor thing got the hiccups when you bottle fed her, teeny soft little hiccups you have to strain your ears to hear
huh her little crooked smile makes you feel kind of warm and stupid inside
try not to get attached
try hard blueblood
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
real dialogue coming later maybe, idk
Hmmmm this is a really old piece of yours, so I was wondering if I could dabble in writing something small for the description?
What do you use for art? I'm not allowed to use the computer for art, sadly. Also the iPad is old so does "Adobe Ideas" sound familiar?
How can Fleur not like Blueblood when she's the one who decided to fool around with him lol
Well she did it because both Fleur and Fancy were not in a good relationship at the time and she only did so to feel wanted in a way. She clearly regrets it afterwards. People ( or ponies in this case? ) don't have to really like each other to do such things. Some people meet up and in two minutes of knowing each other can be fooling around. So if anything it is only understandable since she did it out of her own loneliness.Β
I haven't been that fond of your anthropomorphized pieces before, but I'm so IN to this one. Β Are you trying something new with them? Β Or is just something I haven't been able to appreciate before. Β Your past pieces have either had the characters either sitting/crouched, or not entirely in the frame, so perhaps I'm just getting a view I didn't have before.
I think it's the posture. Β The pronounced forward bow in the spine really works well with the wide spacing you've given to the joints in the legs, reminding us of the lean power of a horse. Β The small shoulders that slant away also help make the necks seem appropriately huge in proportion to the body, compared to a human. Β Before, the torsos on your anthro characters just seemed very square, like how a human's might be drawn. Β I also realize that it can seem very different based on clothing, and the body types of characters. Β
Also excellent is face and snout sloping downwards, like an actual horse. Β Yes, I know that's not something the show is trying hard for, but it fits better with your more realistic and detailed take. Β Before, it's seemed more like you've had your faces sticking out at a more horizontal angle, like if you were doing dog characters. Β
It's occuring to me now that when we're taking animal characters that have already been given human features such as with MLP, when turning them to bipedal "anthros" we might have to give them the horse features they didn't have before to be meaningful. Β
I really like this anthro style; it seems more cutesy and horsey and less like what you said β just a horse head on a human body. It was great before, too, but I really like this. keep up the good work
You're styles always amuse me, I'm a huge fan of your art no matter what, it has good quality shading and now and then a ton of detail just on the character's alone, and I absolutely love Moondancer, Trixie and Pandora. <3Β
Why does Blueblood want to be apart of Vogue's life but not Moondancer's?
Because he obviously can't be apart of her life and He can (and Moondancer would really like it if he did) be apart of his life???
Well at the end of the description of "Spectator", the picture in the description, Lop says this:
"his loneliness has made him really bitter and cold by the time moondancer finally finds him"
So that's probably it
my guess would be that by this point, blueblood has grown really cynical, even moreso than he was before. Imo probably had a mindset of "why bother getting attached, he'll either hate you or leave you like the others"
I guess because Moondancer wasn't introduced to Blueblood until late in his life. Blueblood literally watched his daughter grow up, and he was generally more present in her life.
Centaurs, fauns, satyrs, and minotaurs all have hooves and hands, not hard to wrap your head around.
the animal proportions look cute ^^ i'm more partial to your human-like anatomy, but you did a nice job. One little thing though is that I feel like Fleur De Lis should be a bit taller with longer legs
On the other hand you did an interesting job making such a twisted situation look so cute here, omg XD poor bastards gonna really regret all of this
