Description
"As a diplomatic envoy of the Tau Empire Water Caste, I do not often get the chance to lay eyes upon the distant homeworld of my species. Yet even here from orbit, it is truly a magnificent sight, wouldn't you agree?"~Attributed to Por'O Elsy'eir, Doran'ro Elro, (Translated: Water Caste Ambassador Elsy'eir, calm-minded speaker) dated, 0607, 998.M41
So, since it's been roughly... 8 months or so since I last posted anything involving this character, I figured I'd give it another try. As usual, I suck at backgrounds, so the background is a composition of two pieces with a litle tweaking (credits will be given below to avoid plagiarism / unfair use)
The pose is something I was never all that happy with. The right arm just got in the way, and the only way to keep it in even semi-naturally was to put it where I left it in the end, which is still pretty awkward in terms of perspective and god this is a run-on sentance... basically poor planning and proportional practice on my part, something I'm working on improving.
I'd call this borderline fanservice, but it's not exactly anything lewd or particularly revealling.
Oh and before anyone asks, no, I haven't forgotten about the Sketches. They're done, most of them anyway. I'll wrap up the ones I have yet to do tommorow, then scan and post 'em all in a sketchdump deviation. My apologies for the delay, I really can't explain why I haven't been more productive. Mostly studying and dealing with life issues.
PS. I'd be amazed if anyone even noticed this without me drawing attention to it, but her 'formal' name got an update from the last time I posted artwork of Elsy, due to her lack of involvement with the Tau Empire's millitary branch at present date. Obscure trivia FTW.

Well, well don't be so hard on yourself, mister!! To place that arm was hard anyway, given the pose and angle and I think you took the best approach possible. That without covering part of her face or body. The shoulder position is really good and the attitude of the pose brings some from "The Little Mermaid" back to me. xDD If it makes any sense... that innocent, curious demeanor which ends up looking unexpectedly beautiful? i see that here! Like she has no idea how good she looks, she's simply admiring the view.
I say awesome Well done!!
(Sorry here so late to the party!)

Thank you It was a last minute decision and I'm glad it worked out!
Oh? I suppose you have a point. Yes, that does make sense, and that's the kind of personality she has, where she doesn't think that much of herself. You seem to have nailed her personality with that description alone
Thanks!
(No need to worry about that. I've missed you though )

Looks great I like the outfit, I dunno why, but for some reason it makes me think of Mass Effect, haha
One of the things I really like I think is the way you meshed your art with the backgrounds, it looks really good together

Thanks The outfit was designed by a cosplayer here who never really updated their page after posting it, so I adapted the design. It's worked out quite nicely
Mass Effect does have a lot of people looking out of windows into space, so I can see where you're coming from the background was pretty easy. Had to cut the frame out for the metallic window parts, resize it to fit with the drawing, then do the same for the space image, finally added a slight pixel blur to make it look more distant and obscured.

Well it's a pretty nice looking outfit, the outfit itself was actually what I was referring to when I was talking about being reminded of Mass Effect, though now that you mention it, the rest of the picture kind of does too
Well you did a stellar job, it looks quite nice indeed.

Oh? I don't really see the Mass Effect themes in the outfit. Most ME outfits have absurd amounts of textures and patterns (which is why most of the time, drawing quarians is just torturous...)
Hah, "Stellar", I see what you did there

Quarians certainly do have a lot of craziness, that is definitely for sure...I honestly don't really want to imagine trying to draw one I dunno why I'm reminded of some of the outfits and stuff from Mass Effect
...well, I can think of one way and one that's fairly obvious, the three straps or whatever near the breast area reminds me of the Quarian suits, I know that much, dunno why the rest of it does though...
I didn't even realize that I'd made that pun.. hehe
