Description
Uruk communities are very small and rural compared to a human community. Even their largest towns are not very dense. Cities in the human sense of the word simply do not exist in Uruk society. The Uruk are famously temperamental and those afflicted with the rage virus can become uncontrollable berserkers. The disease is so rampant that Uruk are always armed should they have to mercy kill an afflicted individual, or for the infected to kill themselves.
The Lords is the name given to the elite clans and their warrior followings subordinate to the king. Perhaps around twenty-five. The warriors that the king could immediately call on numbers 3000-4000 Uruk – far fewer than the "tens of thousands" alleged. These are the clans that are part of the royal household, they receive tribute from the common Uruk.
The smell of an Uruk unnerves horses. In Uruk mythology, horses and wild asses are cursed animals.
Irregular warfare is the Uruk's preferred fighting style, relying on their superior physiology to terrorize their foes and shatter their morale. They are unafraid to display brutal acts and wanton slaughter. Their warriors wear animal skins and generally wore minimal armor, preferring the freedom of movement. They excel with the great arms – mace, war hammer, polearms and greatsword. Uruk archers are incredibly dangerous and their bows are so strong that no human could use them. Thus, they are master archers and the arrow shot from one of their warbows can pierce an armored human.
