In the ancient days the Iverian warhorses would ride an entire day without tiring and charge headfirst into a wall of pikes without questioning. The barbarian lancers are not quite the same breed but they are strong chargers whereas the average Imperial horse carries his rider to battle and they dismount to join it.

The empire remains solidly an infantry force, relying on its vassals and allies to supply cavalry forces.
