Description The Roscram Rifle is Britannia's close quarters weapon of choice, generally issued along with the McBreck Rifle.

Firing a 4.5x48mm round from a 35 round box magazine at 700 RPM, the Roscram can quickly fill a room with pain.

The fire selector is Auto/Safe only, push button style.

And of course the bayonet is detachable for travel, but is recommended to be attached when in combat as it helps aid to balance the weight of the weapon along with it's normal purpose of gutting enemies.

The pistol grip is angled steeply for ergonomics, as well as aided comfort while using the bayonet.

It's A Good Rifle, But I Would Modify it To Fire Semi Auto Only, So It Can Be More Comfortable that way, and Plus I Would Add A Rail System To Fit an ACOG Scope on it.
So I'll Give the Rifle A (4 Out Of 5 Stars)

Well, rails didn't exist in the 40's and 50's so that idea is out
And I don't think any of the room clearing weapons from that era were semi either.
But thanks

Not if the design is meant for an era other than 2012 >.>

Oh and the trigger mechanism is a bit smallso it'll jam often as well, without a rod of somesort to clear it it'll be hard to unjam.

.... What?

SageofEyes In reply to Lord-Malachi [2011-12-30 16:40:54 +0000 UTC]

The "firing" mechanism isn't very large so if it's as high speed as you say a bullet may not exit the barrel fully and get stuck in the Firing pin. Most reliable guns (Best example: any of the AK Assualt Rifle family) have a large exit for the bullet casing as well as an attached unjammer on it.

Now that I read it again I saw that you use whats close to pistol ammo so this is ramblings on my part :/

.........
I think you mean the ejection port isn't very large, and I'll agree with that.

Also it's not pistol ammo, the difference is in the shape of the slug, not the size.

It's a bit short for a bayonet unless that knife is longer than noraml, its about the lenght of Uzi without the stock. Is the stock flippable or removable since if it is it'll be a more covert ops thing rather than a military weapon. The Barrel isn't very long so it's a close combat to medium range, it'll be smart to have a burst selection for it to be semi accurat at long range. A thirty-five ammo and 700 RPM it'll take 20 seconds to unload the entire clip, so it's a pretty fair weapon and the stock will add reasonable stability.

It wont be good for battlefields, more for anti terrorist operations such as building clearing or covert ops.

Bayonets are... outlawed by Geneva Convention... so if this should be used in conjuction of a Underbarell shotgun to help with its close combat capabilities.

A good sidearm but not a good primary.

'Bayonets are... outlawed by Geneva Convention...'
No, triangular bayonets, designed to cause grevious wounds as opposed to specifically to kill, are outlawed. That bayonet (I believe) is okay. I was a bit disbelieving of this considering men have been decorated when British soldiers went into battle with fixed bayonets and charged open top pits...

Thats during World War Two... and I checked you are correct that Bayonets are NOT outlawed.

They just have no place in urban combat which is where most combat happens now...

I'd hardly say that...

FiBUA pretty much requires bayonets in certain situations. For example, you run out of ammunition during a room clearance and someone is turning towards you - what do you do? Whilst this is not a FiBUA example, in '09 in Afghanistan a Lieutenant of the Royal Regiment of Scotland got an MC for a bayonet charge: after running out of ammunition after killing a member of the Taliban, another appeared and the Lt. was forced to charge him and bayonet him. There was also a medium-scale bayonet charge by British soldiers in 2004 in Iraq, directed at 100 insurgents of which an estimated 40 were killed in h2h fighting, and a British soldier recieved an MC.

Well, the stock is not flippable or anything, it's a solid stock, which is kind of needed since it's a bullpup. And the bayonet is half the length of the gun, so you tell me if that's extra long xD

Also the design is for a fictional game taking place during a fictional war between 1945 and the late 1950s. WWI and WWII took place but were very different from real life, so the geneva convention never happened, and nukes were never invented.

As the description says, this was specifically designed for urban combat and clearing buildings. The McBreck rifle is the standard issue weapon, this isn't.

Still, thanks for the feedback

Ah, right... It just looks a bit small, compared to the trigger size it looks like you'd need to use your little finger to cock it.
(hard work in the middle of a contact)

Feel free to make it as long as I get credit for the design. And link me so I can see it
