Description

War never changes but mankind's drive to build a better weapon always surpasses expectations! Just in time for Christmas here are some models inspired by the various powered armors of the Fallout universe, created in Spore.

---

T-45 Power Armor

Description: The first successful powered infantry armor deployed by the U.S. Army in the Sino-American War. Originally deployed as a stop-gap against Chinese forces, it pioneered many technical features that would become standard to all subsequent models.

T-51 Power Armor

Description: The pinnacle of pre-war Power Armor technology. Its shell utilized advanced alloys and poly-laminent composite castings -- making it both lightweight and extremely protective. Decreasing the armor's overall profile reduced drag and also greatly increased survival among its operators.

T-60 Power Armor

Description: A refit of the T-45 developed to mitigate the high production costs of the T-51. It saw limited deployment at the Anchorage front, and later extensive use in the homefront U.S. before the Great War of 2077. Ad hoc production techniques made the armor's protective capabilities inconsistent between versions.

Ultracite Power Armor

Description: This T-51 retrograde was re-enforced with an experimental compound found in Appalachia. It was designed by the Lost Hills Brotherhood of Steel after the Great War but never saw deployment due to material scarcity.

EX-17 Excavator Suit

Description: Revolutionary mining equipment that saw use in the American workforce before the war. Created by the Garrahan Mining Company, it is most notable for being one of the few known civilian-grade Power Armors ever produced.

Chinese Power Armor

Description: An attempt at replicating western advances in powered infantry armor by Chinese forces before the Great War. Developed in response to the highly-successful T-45, it saw limited use by the People's Liberation Army after the Battle of Anchorage but remained years behind its American counterparts in terms of both design and basic protection.

X-01 Power Armor

Description: A radically-different take on Power Armor designed for post-nuclear environments, eschewing design philosophies of the T-series in favor of sheer protection. This model was utilized by Enclave armed forces after the Great War and further improved upon to create the "Mark I" Advanced Power Armor.

X-02 Power Armor

Description: A suit combining advanced protection with the maneuverability of older models. It was developed in response to the operational difficulties of the X-01 variants, and serialized as "Mark II" Power Armor by Enclave forces. Prototype models were discovered and reverse-engineered by the Midwest Brotherhood of Steel.

Hellfire Power Armor

Description: A specialized Power Armor that offered optimal protection at a high movement-to-weight ratio cost. This suit had a long and troubled development history before being completed at Adams Air Force Base. It saw limited deployment among Enclave special forces in the 2270's, usually supplemented by Mark II Armored troops.

Trivia:

•These creations utilize components from the "Spore Bot Parts Pack" originally released as part of a promotion with the Dr. Pepper soft drink company. I had the privilege of securing a legitimate code for this DLC in November 2010.
•My revised take on the X-01 was also inspired by the original Fallout 2 Advanced Power Armor and New Vegas' Remnants armor. Likewise, my version of the X-02 takes some inspiration from Fallout Tactics' Advanced Power Armor.

•Like all Power Armor in Fallout 4 and Fallout 76, the models present in this compilation use a standardized "frame."

***UPDATED 05/12/2021: Added "Chinese Power Armor"***
