No problem! I really admire people who can use Blender because I've recently begun dipping my toes into it and it seems so complicated haha!
And you got him to look exactly the same as his in game model to! That's just amazing!

Yeah...Blender is a pain in the ass to learn (Maya/3DS Max is worse though don't buy into their lllllLLIES)
Ahhh It's all just ripping models from a site
However half of his face was destroyed and that I did have to fix along with his UV texture

Haha, well, best of luck! not sure if he'll have a little faceposing, like happy or sad expressions, but in either case, this is going to be good to mess with
( I suck at face bones ;n; )
And, I wish you luck on DOTD Spyro, and whatever you have for future projects. Consider me a watcher for your works! <3

He will have face posing
He'll use something called 'Shape keys' that aren't bones at all
they are sliders that move a few verticesΒ

Ah, is that what they're called? I always just called them sliders.
Good to know.

Makes it easier to facepose in my opinion. I am actually glad these models will have the sliders.

So I stumbled here from your tumblr and you, my good person, have made my entire day. I've been searching for LoS versions of the purple putz for months, and just knowing someone who knows what they're doing (omg blender gives me a headache) is still at trying to port him over just. Seriously. You made my day if not my week. Keep at it! You're doing the modeling community a huge service.Β

Wow I had no clue TLOS Spyro was requested by so many people until I started
And I started because I wanted to train my new found knowledge of Blender by making something and I thought Spyro was good practice and afterwards Port him into SFM because no one esle has done it for some reason
Thank you for the encouragement I won't give up
All that needs to be done is facial flexes and the hell of porting him
Always up for suggestions

It looks really nice, i don't see any issues with the model in any of the poses featured here.
What software are you using for this rig?

LordKittin In reply to Krovash [2016-07-07 17:22:19 +0000 UTC]
I'm using Blender (because Maya and 3ds Max cost a fortune)
There are it's issues particularly in the neck but there isn't a whole lot I can do with it unfortunately

Krovash In reply to LordKittin [2016-07-07 19:57:46 +0000 UTC]
Try getting Maya, torrent if possible. Maya has like the best animation tools out there, it gives you so much control over your character's movements. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised if you try it.

LordKittin In reply to Krovash [2016-07-19 19:42:42 +0000 UTC]
It took me two years to learn Blender and it's infuriating layout and hotkeys
I got a hold of 3DS Max for about a month and learned nothing about it even with the videos
and the only experience I have with Maya is watching someone else use it
I don't know how to torrent things and learning Maya might take forever because I have the memory span of a gold fish cracker
I've heard great things but I'll stick to Blender for the time being since my much more experienced friends know how to use it and it's easier to talk to them besides watching a 10 minute video that may or may not have to solution to a problem
I appreciate the suggestion but with Animation I'll stick with Source Filmmaker

Krovash In reply to LordKittin [2016-07-19 19:56:11 +0000 UTC]
I'm not familiar with Source Filmmaker, maybe you can do some cool stuff in it, but i think if you really give it your all, you can learn any software. Maya can be a pain in the ass, i'm planning on getting into it myself some time later.Β
There is a cool channel on youtube called Arrimus3D. The guy shows how to model all sorts of problematic areas in various applications. I don't know if he ever used blender in any of his tutorials, but he uses a lot of 3d max and zbrush, so if you ever'll feel like giving those apps another go, his channel is a nice way of learning some things.
I found out it's really cool to not limit yourself to just 1 or 2 applications, because sometimes you have to switch to a different app, cause the goal you're trying to achieve can be achieved faster in the other app.
May your polygons always stay 4-sided

lol alright I'll look into it some more
The biggest issue really is getting a hold of the program itself

Krovash In reply to LordKittin [2016-07-20 08:50:13 +0000 UTC]
There is a site i can suggest, it's specifically made for art related software, you can torrent from there. The site is cgpeers.com. You will find the most up to date versions of 3d and 2d software in there along with professional grade tutorials on said software. For example: There was recently a tutorial there that i downloaded from a dude that works as a digital sculptor for WWE, and his sculpts looks almost exactly like real WWE superstars, the tutorial helps you to understand how to make your sculpt closely resemble a real person. And this is just one of hundreds if not thousands of tutorials you can find there.
There is one downside though: the registration to the tracker is closed most of the time, except a few select days per month. I believe you can register on 1st and 15th of every month, but once you get in, you'll be glad you did.
