The evening was settling in on the Moonclan camp, Cottonkit had been trying her best to nap all afternoon, though it had proved difficult. She'd been constantly woken up by those new kits of Eagletalon and Rockfall's, they kept on chattering away like baby birds. Then, when she finally got to sleep they came barreling into the nest, apparently they needed feeding. Yeah, they only stayed in their nest once every few days, but being woken was something Cottonkit disliked.
So, now that they had almost successfully pushed her off the nest as they shuffled and shifted, Cottonkit finally gave up, getting up and leaving without a goodbye. She padded blindly for a few moments, just tottering around the nursery, until she stopped herself when she realized she was almost a whisker length away from another kit, backing away slowly. "Oh...sorry....I wasn't looking where I was going"

"It's ok.." a bigger red tomkit appeared in the darkness of the den. His golden eyes shone in the moonlight, "You can't sleep either?" he settled down onto the floor, tail waving slowly across the ground

"No...not really" Cottonkit mewed, letting out a quiet sigh. She was so tired too... even the thought made her yawn widely before remembering she had company. "Perhaps talking to someone will help... what's your name?"

"Sharpkit, and you're Cottonkit, I take it?" his voiced seemed to be a bit strained, as if he was trying to cover another emotion. His shining tail waved in the moonlight, the tip was crooked and ragged, bitemarks visible near the bending point

For a few moments, Cottonkit forgot to answer, having been distracted by the toms tail twitching in the moonlight. "Oh... yes" She mewed, half-heartedly almost, too caught up in her own thoughts to even question or be suspicious about why the tom knew her name. "If you don't mind me... I'm just curious..." She fumbled over her words slightly. "What happened to your tail?"

"I got into a fight with that piece of mousedung.." he growled as he spoke, gesturing to a sleeping gray calico named Minkkit. She sat curled up with her other two sibling Batkit and Ringkit by Runningbreeze's side. She was well known for being loud and obnoxious in the nursery, and even had a hissyfit, catching even the elder's attention. His crooked tail wrapped oddly around his paws, and he waited for the off-white she-kit to respond

"Oh" She mewed, looking at the grey calico Sharpkit was gesturing towards, blinking at the tiny sleeping figure. She looked a little small, but then again, she knew that size really meant nothing when it came to what damage you could do. "That's... not very nice of her" Cottonkit turned to face Sharpkit again, her head tilted to the side slightly. "Is it.... are you alright?"

"Yeah, it isn't the worst. It can hurt every now and then, but it's not agony." he mewed and settled down, tucking his brown and red paws under his chest

Cottonkit nodded slowly, eyes till fixated on the tail. She's never really been hurt or anything like that, one had to do something to get hurt, and Cottonkit didn't exactly do an awful lot. "Ok... I suppose I'd offer my help.. or something... but there's not really anything I can think of... or anything" She mewed, her expression thoughtful.

"You could get her in trouble." mischief sparked in his yellow eyes as he spoke, staring at the sleeping kitten

"Oh, um, I would but..." Cottonkit bit her lip, not really wanting to get in the middle of all this. She looked at the ground and mumbled something undecipherable, hoping that Sharpkit wouldn't ask her to repeat the gibberish she'd mumbled as an excuse to avoid the confrontation.
