omg look im submitting something that's an actual oc and not evoloons... wow what an achievement for me on this account.

so uh!!! this is my first time actually formally applying for an rp group so that's cool? if anyone wants to rp hmu ig,,,,,,

honestly i love this girl <333 i had my concept for her today and what do you know... now shes one of my other developed ocs! maybe i'll make a non fandom version of her later. i might also add a bit more to her bio idk,

Magic Motif: "Phantom Copy" - She can make a ‘ghost copy’ of her soul from a few seconds beforehand to disorient opponents. Her powers are very laggy though, so 90% of the time it doesn’t work… though she hopes to improve with practice! Most of her magic in general has to do with the otherworldly/soul manipulation.

Personality:
She’s a bit of an interesting individual. It’s hard for her to interact casually with those her age because of those she grew up around. She often finds herself coming off as something like that one adult that tries too hard to be ‘hip with the kids’ or ‘cool’. She IS mentally and physically 16 though her mishaps with others make her feel much, much older.

Despite this, Irene loves conversation! One can talk to her about almost anything, she’ll try to engage and make another feel comfortable speaking to her. Her eyes really light up when someone mentions one of her favorite topics.

For a witch she seems humble and not flamboyant. She doesn’t feel the need to show off as she doesn’t have much in the first place. However, she can be very judgmental at times, and if she’s not telling you how she feels about the way you act or dress, you’ll see her staring you up and down.

Irene always looks to be rather sad or solemn about something. It may just be a product of her species and typing. Or it could be related to the fact that she’s nocturnal and staying up during the day is her equivalent to staying up until 5AM to study for a test.

Likes: Books, telling stories, nature documentaries, board games, and Tapu Cocoa.
Dislikes: Studying, cold drinks, taking things TOO seriously (though she often does without knowing), sarcasm

Backstory:

Long before Irene's existence, a group of witches living in Wales sought time to grieve. A kishin had slaughtered one of the children, one of their own. The young Masquerain, Nightoria Duske, went out after curfew, innocently seeking to play in the grass and watch the sunset outside of their mansion. She was too fragile to fight the creature alone... and when the rest of the group found her, it was too late.

They buried what was left of her underneath the mansion.

Time did not heal the souls of the coven. The grief of over 20 witches manifested into something else... a spark of life. It happened slowly, but surely. At first, the group could see the brief outline of another Pokemon, lingering behind them like a shadow. Eventually, a small yet powerful soul ignited from within the figure, and it took form... a tiny Misdreavus, born of their very misery.

They all decided to name the child Irene Ruth. She would be their hope-- the reminder to never make the same mistakes they did ever again.

Unfortunately, not telling her about her past life was their first, and only mistake.

Irene grew up fully aware of how people thought of witches. Her coven lived isolated far, far away from the DWMA. Having very old and experienced witches in her group, they were able to accumulate enough magic to conceal their souls from meisters.

Irene did not have much of a childhood. Her days were all routine: Study and attempt spells with little to no time to play games. The witch who influenced her the most of her life was the elderly Headmaster- who would teach her a good lesson if she decided to go against her rules. There were no other young witches, nobody she could relate to, and so this, combined with the studies, lead her to become rather stoic and secluded. She found solace in fairy tales and stories about ghosts as they reminded her of herself.

Word eventually got around that travelling meisters and weapons arrived in their town. Although the witches were sure they were prepared, they were also ready to fight. Irene, being young, naïve, and sheltered, took this as a chance to run away while the others paid more attention to keeping from the meisters. She wanted to see what life was like outside of her coven’s large, lonely mansion.

After packing up and setting out, she spent a few nights wandering around aimlessly. She got to see the beauty of nature and she could interact with it for the very first time. Although she knew she was free, she felt a slight... presence? She swore one night that she saw a flash of a blue soul nearby.

Little did she know her supposed hallucination was real and she was followed by the meisters. On a fateful day the students of the DWMA finally confronted her. Although she was trained to fight in these situations she braced herself and curled up, ready to die.

Instead of killing her, the lead meister let their weapon turn back into their original Pokemon form, and walked up to the scared little witch. They offered a hand, and said, “We’re not here to hurt you.”

Hesitantly, Irene grabbed the hand of the stranger and let them pull her up. The other meisters held a confused look in their eyes.

“So.. So you’re not monsters.” Irene hesitated to speak.

“And I’m guessing you’re not an evil witch.” The meister let out a chuckle, “Come to the DWMA with us. I bet you’ll fit in better there.”

Thus, her true journey begins….

- Irene has an obvious Welsh accent! She lived a century in Wales before finally moving to Nevada. Hearing people with other accents is odd to her.
- She is a ghost type though her she can be interacted with physically. The long, wavy part of her dress that comes out of the bottom is actually part of her flesh… don’t touch it.
- Her favourite words: Radical, totally tubular, lit (slap her when she begins to use it), fam, fleeky, and gnarly. She has a plethora of oddly placed slang, outdated and new. Someone should stop her.
