"Do you think I'm a good mom?"

Tabbris was only half-focused on the task at hand. Besides living by the lake, she'd taken her kids on trips to the beach before, so she didn't really need this ability to find where the waves crashed against the shore. Besides that, she found wind magic coming rather easily to her, like water magic did. But thoughts of the beach led to that of her children, Phoenix and Feferi, and then to....

She subconciously placed a hand over her abdomen, though when she'd come in that morning she was uncomfortably conscious of how much she was showing. When she looked at Mari, it was with worry in her eyes.

One of Mari's eyes cracked open to peer at Tabbris, though she was still focusing intensely herself. "Yeah, Tab - of course! You're a great mom! Why?"

"I just..." Tabbris's voice cracked slightly, despite her best efforts. She was aware of other students moving ahead of them - they were behind a bit since Marigold sat down, but she didn't mind waiting - and she didn't want to have a breakdown here, where everything everyone heard would be amplified.

She took a deep breath, then smiled and shook her head. "It's nothing, just a passing thought."

Marigold turned around sharply at that, the glow fading from her magic glands. "Tabbris?" she asked, standing up. "Is this about...?" She nodded towards the protrusion of Tabbris's stomach, beyond a baby bump at this point. Tabbris had spoken to her about it before, as someone that Tabbris trusted, and she knew how she felt about the situation.

And admittedly, that was a part of it. Tabbris couldn't help but be afraid for the next few weeks. She'd been to see Dr. F plenty of times to track its progress, and had gone to talk to Pish about his involvement in the issue (which was something that was still getting worked out). She had a plan ahead, though, and she felt sure of it. Sometimes she felt not as sure about....

"It's just the stuff we've talked about before," Tabbris lied, smiling in a pained manner as she faced Mari. "Sorry, I'm just feeling weird about it again. I'll be fine. The forest has ears and I don't want anyone overhearing." Her friend nodded, seeming to accept her answer.

It was half the truth, but there was also the fact that she didn't want to burden Mari with any more of her thoughts. She could get through it just fine on her own, and if she couldn't, did she really deserve to have such wonderful kids as she did? If she couldn't handle the responsibilities, couldn't it be said that she was being selfish for keeping them around?

She was just going through a tough time right now. Magic class was the break she needed. Magic was fun for her, and she got to spend time with Marigold, one of her closest friends. She didn't have to worry about the kids, because Feferi was an adult and old enough to help watch the house on the nights she was away, and if Feferi needed help the Nook was just across town.

Tabbris took a deep breath and focused on summoning magic to her mind, retraining her mind on the goal. She was trying to relax and take a break, and stressing wouldn't do anyone any good. She would focus on finding the ocean for now.
