Awweh, I'm sure you're not terrible at everything! Confidence is key!!
In regards to this specific plush though, I'm pretty sure she used acrylic felt, that's what I used here [link] that with a couple buttons and thread is pretty much all you need to create this specific plush.
Normally you can get small sheets of acrylic felt at Walmart for 15 cents each! I only used 1 sheet for the whole body, and then scraps of other pieces for hair and clothes. Hope that helped, and good luck! It's really quite fun although personally I like crocheting plushes more
Remember, there are hundreds of different art forms, there's definitely one out there that fits you!

I would like to make a pair of plushies that can kiss and hold hands with the use of magnets. Should I use a type of glue to attach a magnet inside with the stuffing?
I apologize if you have had this question before! I'm in the early stages of creating the plushies, and I'm trying to get as much research done as possible before I get started. ^_^

I honestly may be more interested in that adorable turtle pin cushion thing. I. LOVE. TURTLES.
Aside from that, it seems like a nice, simple, tutorial. Since I know NOTHING about sewing, I'd have to look up a few terms/stitches and whatnot....

I used your pattern! It worked very well, the other links you posted for clothes and hair were helpful too. I made the Joker from Batman: [link]
