Description
Nightmare Moon stands vigilant in the crumbled ruins of the castle that once served as her home, standing guard over the Elements of Harmony. Those who seek them will have to pass her trials.
The second entry in my series of anthropomorphic MLP: FiM villains, Nightmare Moon got a more serious treatment and took far too long to color. (All that metal...) Tried some new approaches to coloring here, think it payed off.
No critique please.

cool picture but the moon is a little bit too big
That dosn't bother me at all though
'cause the light is set wonderful
and armour looks very nice colored

I will be honest. She is not as fabulous as your anthropic version of Queen Chrysalis, but she surely looks fine. Hmmm, what to start with? Maybe a thing that is most general.
I've had an impression that Chrysalis was stylized for a Greek/Romanian Goddess, now I'm quite certain that you were inspired by Greeks/Romanians - I can tell that by looking at Nightmare Moon's armament. 
A thing that I like a lot about this picture is your interpretation of Nightmare Moon's mane. It is shiny in the light and looks quite normal but in darkness it looks like the night sky - very cool concept! It's amazing, really.
And of course I must mention the little details - those studs made looking like lunar phases - great!
Last but not least, I like how her body looks so soft - no scars, no flaws. She even has cute nail polish
She has elements that make her look dangerous, cute and sexy!
I also like nightmare moon in the background behind the Nightmare Moon ^^.

*nod nod* I figured Queen Chrysalis likely rules her changelings and manages her schemes with magical shapeshifting as as well as a metric butt ton of charisma in general, which is why I chose to depict her in a pretty dress. The goal with Nightmare Moon in my derpy little head canon was to make her more of a bad-ass, hence the armor, but to make nods to her softer side. I'm glad you like all the details, thank you!

Excellent work with the metallic shading on her armor. The sparkles in her mane and tail are a nice touch. I think it was wise to make the sparkles small and subtle. Also nice job on the Moon and the background. A very strong piece overall

Thanks! The sparkles are mostly on model; in her canon design her mane is transparent and sparkly (implied stars) hence the star field effect here.
