its nice you took the time to show the people something else except than the fancy cars, shiny boulevards and the statue of liberty.. this shot could easily make it into a magazine. i love this kind of photographs, depicting the rotting insides of a very well wrapped 'package' that is served to us who live outside the US. I think that photography revolving around the different aspects of urban life(homeless people, forgotten neighorhoods etc) has great emotional impact on people. great one, thanks for sharing!

As always, you give us an amazing shot...

What I really like about this one is that even though it is a random corner in the city, you chose an almost perfect one, with layer upon layer of buildings that are all readily available for you to capture. It's almost like you found the center of the city - the core where everything started.

Well done...again!

this reminds me, for some reason, of angelo badalamenti's song "the black dog runs at night". don't know why, but i love the combination the sound and the image make in my head.

nice contrast, the little dowdy house in the front and in the backround the huge nice houses.
the sepia touch was the right choice for this one.

Wow... I always thought Manhattan was just some place with fncy coperate buildings and crap... I've been their before but I've never seen anything like this ... Truely amazing, I thought I was looking at something in Rome or Greece for a moment!

That is really cool. I love the color of the buildings. I mean they look like their covered with decades of cigarette smoke. The tar so thick that gravity pulls it down. Ya know, ya have to sandblast it off. I noticed a temple in there as well. Great shot.

I love that this piece is not about the thriving, bright, bustling, pristine Manhattan that we always see. You're so right...take one corner...one old, ragged, undeveloped, delapidated corner...and what do you get? A whole different view of the world.

Beautiful photograph, love the old feeling this has created bu the tonal range of the image. I like how this is the older part, showing its age, its character, and the beauty beyond what we normally think when it comes to NY. Excellent capture.

This really reminds me of Escher's works. All the different planes coming together and interacting, especially with the similar tones, just looks fabulous. It almost looks like a collage put together in Photoshop of various cut-out buildings. Great shot

Funny, to and outsider this seems the oppostie image that one thinks of Manhattan, though quite fitting in a way. Time goes on, popluarity shifts as fashions progress and in it's wake there will be left remains like this. It's like the dormant soul of the city, biding it's time till it comes back into the limelight. Fabulous photo.

I really love the colors, how all of the buildings are different, and the way they are layered on each other. You picked a perfect corner to photograph from!
