I went to a formal wedding on New Year's eve. I was waiting in line for a drink at the reception with my camera down at my side, when this mime came over, stuck his face in front of the lens and i snapped a pic, while the cam was still near my knee. He was so impressed at my "sieze the moment" attitude (and he liked the pic), he wanted to do head shots as well as other conceptual ideas with me.Many ideas flew to mind, but i really wanted to capture a Beckettian sense of emptiness and lonliness....as i become more into the art thing, i seem to slip into this void often and without avail...and it is I that cannot use words to speak of this solitude.

this is great. it's odd, well, for one reason, because i get the "lonely" feeling with mimes, too. and another, because i was just thinking recently how i wanted to go somewhere that has a mime, or meet a mime, or become a mime. they're so interesting...

the use of the mime and the location of that massive emptiness strongly emphasizes on that feeling of lonelines... accompanied with his great facial expression, and that lone flower he holds in his hand... such great expression!

I think I'd love this shot even without the figure, those lines and tones are beautiful, the composition works so well and the fact thatg figure is there in the bottom corner really accentuates the feeling of space and solitude.

It is rather sad to think that one person, although they may have someone to heart, it may not be the person they are seeking and yet still have a vast sence of lonlyness....
Sorry, this is what this picture conjured up in my head seeing as how this is how i feel a lot of the time. I love the wide open space in this piece, and then you have the mime which promotes and total sence of solitude and confinement from the lack of noice.
Thank you for this piece hon, this really made my day a whole lot better.
