I went to a formal wedding on New Year's eve. I was waiting in line for a drink at the reception with my camera down at my side, when this mime came over, stuck his face in front of the lens and i snapped a pic, while the cam was still near my knee. He was so impressed at my "sieze the moment" attitude (and he liked the pic), he wanted to do head shots as well as other conceptual ideas with me.Many ideas flew to mind, but i really wanted to capture a Beckettian sense of emptiness and lonliness....as i become more into the art thing, i seem to slip into this void often and without avail...and it is I that cannot use words to speak of this solitude.

hmm good call, i have been envying the d100 users for some time now but i HAVE been neglecting my white balancing duties. my profiling has helped a great deal recently though. i have seen some work from the new olympus E-1 and ammm quite impressed and have not yet finished my research in the differences between CCD and CMOS chips
but i do believe we'll be learning much about both this semester in school

very nice compositioin! I think the use of sepia really added to the sense of emptiness and loneliness.
The wide spaces behind him makes him look small... lonely in such a big area. The lighting works very well, and I like the shadow of him on the pillard.

I love all the space and it being a mime as it just adds to that lonely feel. A photo that tells a story without words. The color/tone and everything about this makes this a perfect photo. The composition is great ! VERY well done. I love it !

I like the point of view and the use of those two strong pillars that support al the emptyness of the room.
Good placement of the model too, not in a strong part of the image, it just serves well the idea.
Good choice of neutral yet not black and white tones.
