your true calling
the golden earthy tones that result in this lighting is just beautiful - it gives it a bit of a classic feel - and your body is stunning as a model - just gorgeous muscle tone and lines - i love the way the drape is held and how classic this is - the tattoo keeping it a tad modern
(and i'm noting you in a bit )

Now I love your work and you know it, but I actually think this is so so, great pose and tones but too out of focus and light could be better IMO. And I'm bloody jelous because this has 20 favs in 5min and my submission Mensroom yesterday, which I was really proud of and thought would shoot to DTF, has received less appreciation than that in 1 whole day.
LOL @ myself

I really like that the fabric is wrinkled. It emphasizes the smoothness of her skin. This is really beautiful--it almost looks like a sculpture.

A wonderful shot, the model is well toned, yet soft with the blurring and light, the tattoo on the lower back is a wonderful addition, the photo wouldn't be the same without it.

Well, the tatoo looks familiar.
So does the well muscled subject upon which the tatoo can be found...
But I still can't quite put my finger on it.
Oh, how I do love a good mystery!

Great colours and classical but awesome pose.
Intentional blur works well for romantic feeling and romantic also fits with the colour tone.
Guess who? I think I know the tattoo... You?

this is such a great composition, such warm light and texture. the way you're holding the fabric, and how the fabric and the outline of your body blends in with the dark is very beautiful and not too heavy. a simple pose yet strong, very strong view, yet i do not know what i exactly mean by that lovely, i just love the lighting and everything. fantastic work lorraine.

This is more than a study. True, the lines, the lighting, the nice sepia effect - all fine examples, but you know it's art if it makes you feel.
Thank you!

really nice. I've been trying to find some good fine art nude reference photos for my paintings (everything I find is a bit too erotic for the work I like to do). Do you happen to have a stock account? or know of some good ones?

It's kinda blurry but a lovely composition.
I love the deep sepia color.
Great use of light and shadows.
Well composed.

the blurriness is intentional.

Yeah, this is one of those times when "blurry" made it better. Good job.

No, you're not bad at all, you are just right!
Blurryness sometimes works, sometimes it doesn't. In this case it only works partial.
In the head-area for example it works very nice, but for the rest it is as if I need glasses or something, my eyes just don't seem to get a grip on the pic.
Guess the lighting-condition were far from perfect, so I can understand the origin of the blurryness, but that's a poor excuse in this case.
However, I do like the pose (indeed very classical, but very well executed), the model (with the tatoo detail), comp and the tone of the pic (both adding to the classical feeling).
All in all, nice pic, just would have wished for - maybe just some parts - some more sharpness and maybe a slightly bigger pic
Furthermore, when this is a selfportrait (the info does suggest so) I can only bow in deep respect.

actually the blurriness was added in photoshop. the lighting condition were 3 strobes, so the original was extremely sharp...
soft focus idea was based on the idea that around the turn of the last century, many photographers turned to soft focus to make their work look more artistic versus photojournalistic. that is the mood i wanted to create here. if you do not like this is a matter of taste, which is fine to disagree with, but i think it looks clealy intentional.

I agree on the blurryness looking intentional, but I'll have to disagree on the 'matter of taste'-case, but as you state "that's fine" with you
I hope I didn't accidentally wrote a text like 'the lighting was bad, so the picture was blurry so she had to do it like this' - cause that would be way off the way I meant it. The intention was more like if the lighting was bad.. But obviously, it wasn't and there comes another for you
I strongly believe that artist are more helped with critisizm alongside praise, so I just threw in my five cents. Do something with it if you like, or not, that's just fine with me
