Do you think it is possible to have an " architectural photography" addiction?Or is it just taking pictures of amazing, man-made enclosed spaces that are visually appealing and can let the mind run free with possibilities?
Either way, i am drawn to the the idea of giving a glimpse into sub-terranian worlds.

The subways here in Maryland look just like this. The first time I saw 'em, even though I thought they were cool, they scared the shit out of me..........It looked like lunar-panels or something that scanned everyone's brain waves !
Anyway, it's good to know another philly head. I miss philadelpha and I plan to move back soon.

Ok... I have been so busy this week that this has been setting in my "things to do file" for over a week so that I would remember to write a real comment and add it to my favs.
Your " architectural photography" addiction is just fine with me, YOU ROCK! This is stunning both in color and composition. I might suggest the following idea to experiement with if you could reshoot:
Consider using a very high f-stop to sharpen the lines along distance of the picture. I have started to use shutters like f10 and greater and found that the details really start to pop. (I don't know how the S2 does on noise in long exposures, but if it can come out clean you might like the look.) I offer the following as an example: [link]

Your addiction is well-founded. Every time I see your photographs of said architecture I see what you see, the beauty in those lines and forms that made me yearn to be an architect when I was younger. I have to ask though, Lorraine...how did you get the height of this picture? What vantage point where you shooting this from?

It's the metro again!! Hehe. Anyways yes architecture, and subterranian worlds are just cool. One thing really neat about the metro is the lighting, and you captured it perfectly. You are the only person I know that can make the DC metro look so beautiful

Washington DC subway stations? yes they do look good. the rest of the city was a bit of a bummer though. but nice photo

this is a cool picture.. at its heart it's another tunnel picture, but what the hell, tunnel pictures are cool. the lighting and blue tone are what make this one groovy.. the particular ribby architecture doesn't hurt, either
