this is the lovely Emily who was in the sprinkles shot. One of my favorite things to do it to shoot 2-3 concepts that are wildly different from one another...I like pushing people to their deepest levels of Jekell and Hydedome.This is far more blown out/maniped looking than most of my work....I like photography...but something about this look for this one that is so yummy to me....
She is such a versatile model that it was impossible to take a bad picture of her.....that is the sign of a good model.
Anyway, just wanted to do something a little rawer, but clean....but dirty....but.....

Ah, I like this shot. The smeared blood red lipstick reminds me of Robert Smith of The Cure.

i really like these type of colors a lot... as u said, not your usual style but very cool. my fav is the smudging of course...she's so pretty and the lipstick is so red and...
my critique: i would crop it tighter from top or either side, right now i'm missing soe kind of balance, the slight angle from above emphasizes it. and, i think i see some signs of manip on the smudge and upper lip. the smudge is too solid in my opinion to be real (as if she really viped her lisptick), by solid i mean that u know, no skin is showing through, but i mean there photo is very manipulated and has strong colors so i don't mind that. it's the lower lip where i think i see a couple edges and the eyebrows look painted over.
but it's a lovely dark photo, i wish u did more of these.

good critique. Jen.....this was not as perfectly post produced as i am used to because i am not doing anything with it...that sound weird. but i don't have alot of time for the 'just for fun' stuff anymore, so i am not as meticulous about these....
anyway, i love the dark stuff and wish i could do more, as well, but since i am trying to make a living at it, i need to produce bright, clean, and commercial....this kind of stuff doesn't pay....and i need a good light kit, so i don't have the luxury of doing things i want to do....
this so sounds like selling out, but for now, it is really about paying the bills and getting my name out there commercially....
i know you're a fan of red lipstick...it is sooooooo hot....
i just want to do more fashiony in the midst of dirty environments....i think it is so so so sweet....
someday, when i can afford to....

I think this photograph can be use for advertising lipsticks. Use it with a caption maybe like, "too hard to resist", explains the smurge...just a thought..

I really like your color sceme here, and the backdrop provides a lot of interest to a photo that is already visually intriguing. She reminds me a bit of myself in this photograph for some reason. You have definately caught her versatality as a model with these different shoots!

Good shot. I'd only like to mention something I noticed and might help you to see something and correct it. It isn't very noticeable, but my eyes keep going there. There's a green stripe on her left shoulder, probably because of the photomanipulation. I'm not sure you've seen it. If you did, forget I mentioned this. If not, consider this post some help to improve the photo.

I really like this one. I have an infatuation with red lipstick (the redder, the better), and this shot makes me drool a little bit 
I've seen a lot of photographers on DA get a lot of cred but their photos are, in my opinion, boring and predictable--like they've been done before a million times. I won't name names, but the more deviations you post the more I like your shots and I think it's very obvious that you TRY to do something unique and original, and I wish there were more photographers like you on DA. This one in particular is very simple, but still completely original, and I really like it, particularly the background and, of course, the lipstick
