Description
I started this becuase of a dream I had, and becuase I never do white horses. A challenge in other words. And I made it for myself mostly, I felt I needed a new wallpaper for my computer that had more of a spring/summer feel.I was looking for chilled tones, something crisp and fresh. I did experiment with adding more colors but it looked akward, so I decided to limit the palette, which I think also added to the freshness it now has.
I never intended this piece to go on into the public, which is why some of the details are a bit sloppy, I hope you forgive me. I was pretty pleased with the final merged layer though, so I decided to put it up. Enjoy!

your work never fails to impress me. You have a delicate eye for shading and you remember to put shadows, making your horses life-like. I love the faint hint of dapples on the hip, they're perfect. I love your grass too, the ocean view is stunning and brings it all together nicely. This is a beautiful picture.

I don't even know where to start with this one... which is why I waited until I had plenty of time to comment!
First - I love that you're incorporating wildlife into the paintings. The gulls and butterflies give a nice feel of the environment, and it's great that you're doing that more and more in your work. Additionally, you go the extra mile and paint different kind of plants into your grass. You call it sloppy, but there's an amazing amount of detail here. I do see where you could probably clean it up more if you wanted to, but I think you've got a great talent for observation and your work shows it.
The equine subject, of course, looks almost real. The muscle structures of your horses are never overworked. The shadows and highlights are always picked out so delicately - it's something I'm trying to learn from you but I'm still a long ways from that.
You did an excellent job with foreshortening the body - does the head look right to you? I think it may just be that the rest of the body is so rounded and defined with reflection that the head looks a little... flat by comparison.
Your clouds always make me want to work harder! You make it look so friggin easy.

Väldigt fin! Gillar gräset och hundkexen på marken. Men om du vill ha lite kritik så har jag för en gångs skull, tre saker jag skulle vilja anmärka på. Hästens hals ser lite för rund ut ner mot bogen pågrund av den obrutna glanslinjen som går utmed hela halsen. Som du vet så har ju en häst ganska så platt hals. Sen är det också hästens vänstra bakben. Det ser lite kort ut, som om hasen börjar direkt på rumpan (utan lårben alltså
