Description
This is a preliminary pencil drawing of Lady Turquoise of Gemworld from the "Amethyst Princess of Gemworld" comic series by DC. The finished painting is posted on this site as "Lady Turquoise - Spell Casting".It is no secret that I am a HUGE Amethyst fan & I intend to post several Gemworld-related pieces in the near future...stay tuned!! ^_^

Thank you!! Myself, I only became a Kirby "appreciator" as an adult (thought his stuff was "too old" when I was younger...oh the ignorance of youth!), but it would NOT surprise me if the original designers of the character were influenced by his work. Personal note: I happened to be on vacation in Palm Springs (where Kirby lived) the day he died, and it rained - a rare occurence. Kinda fitting, really...

for a real flipout and meditation on Kirby- take a(nother) look at 'Samurii Jack'. Aku as Galactus- the name Jack, that one where the assassin is in the armor- and then it's a Kirby character underneath...
