Description Here's a scan of the original, colored Huntress Commission, colored with Dr. Martin's dyes. For me, there's something about coloring things by hand that is more enjoyable than coloring in Photoshop. The effects and results are different, but I tend to favor the organic nature of coloring things by hand. You don't have the control of the outcome as much when you're doing things by hand. There's no "Edit"-->"Undo" options when it's just you, Dr. Martins and a brush, so there's the added thrill of risk involved--heh.

Anyway, the client seemed very happy. Hope you enjoy it too.

Heh, submitted on my 16th birthday, who would've thought?

Anyway, this hand colouring of the Huntress is straight-up flawless, from top to bottom. I can certainly respect the dedication and work it must've taken to get this right.

Like her pose, the weaponry looks excellent, and the cape has that natural wind-swept look to it, further adding to the authenticity.

Gotta head off for a stint in my Favourites... Maybe for life. Excellent work, and hope to see more!

I'm glad her character got sufficient time on the series; she really is an interesting superhero. Almost has an identical life compared to the Batman.

This shot of her is both alluring, capturing her beauty and the span of her skills through the weapons shown. It's all good.

Amazing work. Ah, I haven't heard of Dr.Martin's inks in ages! I remember them fondly. I def agree with the tangibility of coloring by hand. In my case though I just need a ctrl Z key somewhere near by the art, lol. Sometimes, when I'm heavy into drawing, I'll actually press my pencil and think it's the undo. How messed is that!

Scotty,

Here's some links to where you can buy the Dr Martin's watercolors:

And I recommend using one of these mixing trays as well:

The Dr Martins sets are pretty expensive, but they should last a while. One small drop of a color mixed with water can last a long time!

Sometimes not having a back button is a good thing. Flaws sometimes make the work all the much better.

A back button sometimes takes away the chance for "happy accidents" too.

Photoshop being the great tool it is,I'm not surprised by that. I think it's good to be able to do things the old fashion way and the modern high-tech way. That way you're prepared for anything.

Yes, and that's why I was so envy of you You still have those skill to draw in old fashion way, while I was stuck in digital ways, never again have time to rise my brush and my water colored paint tubes.

Yeah, nothing beats doing the stuff by hand. It's a battle between immediate control versus inevitable control. Computer coloring is great, but if you have the chops and time to do hand coloring, it's well worth it, as in this case. Great job
