Description Artists who try to push themselves to do better work are true taskmasters. I know that I can be my own worst critic. When the Taskmaster came up as this week's PencilJack Weekly Sketch Group topic, I knew I had to doodle out something for it, so I hope you enjoy this bit of silliness. It's like I can feel the Taskmaster breathing down my neck every time I hit the drawing desk sometimes. Heh.

The original Taskmaster is one of my all time favorite Marvel villains. You have to respect a guy who can mimic the moves of any character he witnesses! But what I always liked about the Taskmaster is that he didn't want to rule the world. He was happy just to make money being a villain. A fun character! This is the first time I've ever really tried to draw him.

Possibly. That would be GENIUS. But he’d most likely use the skills of other animators as a basis.

Cool, danger-man! I tried to be faithful to the original character that appeared in AVENGERS 195and 196. I pulled out those issues and read them again. It'd been many years since I had seen them. They're still fun!

I always wanted to get a rogues gallery of those dozen. They are Batroc, Equinox, Firebrand (Gary Gilbert's old outfir), Flag-Smasher, Gladiator (Melvin Potter), Grey Gargoyle, Killer Shrike, the Shocker, Taskmaster, Titanium Man (the old armor), Unicorn (orange helmet, green uniform) and the Wrecker led by Colonel Gideon Mace.

Thanks, dude! It's a piece that artists who push themselves to do better work should be able to relate to. I can be a taskmaster at times, but drawing remains fun. If you have a healthy sense of humor, you can't help but have a good time doing it.

Thanks! Just some brushpen work on copy paper though. Copy paper bleeds a lot. I get much smoother lines with an actual brush and good paper. I really appreciate your comment, weremole!
