This is a great tutorial. I'm familliar with the tricky spiral twist fold: it's in the Kawasaki Rose.

Ugh! I hated making it until I got the hang of it. It's really tough in a couple of places.

I take paper where ever I go so I can fold whenever I have a spare minute. Sometimes, when I'm waiting for a bus home, though, my fingers get a little stiff! ^_^
Thankfully, I still have lots of time to fold because I go to school!

Heh that's cool
I drive everywhere nowadays, and have a fulltime job at subway, so I can't really take paper with me D: I used to fold a lot when I was at school too, make the most of your time

Aw, too bad.
Maybe you should win the lotto and retire so you can fold.

Not a problem! Yeah, step 7 is a little tricky. It's much easier teaching face to face xD;;

I cannot figure out step 8! Everything else went SUPER great! Then you lost me on the backwards part!

Basically, the crease you folded before will be already folded in one direction, you just fold it in the other direction.. If that makes any sense o_O It's so much easier to teach origami via person to person rather than with just a written tutorial

Hey this is awesome, I just bought a bunch of gifts for 4 of my closest cousins and 2 sisters and I didn't know how I would give it to them so I thought of a box and decided to make one since I've got so many perfectly square scrapbook paper. Thanks, step 8 was a bit weird but I got it all.

Great tutorial! Now if only I had pretty paper...
π: 0 β©: 1
Loucife In reply to draconicdreamer [2008-09-14 07:41:25 +0000 UTC]
Thank you You don't necessarily need pretty paper, you can always use newspaper, old catalogues just about anything that's foldable
I think that recycling stuff like that gives the box more character

draconicdreamer In reply to Loucife [2008-09-14 08:28:09 +0000 UTC]
You're welcome Mm, I might try making some with old wrapping paper; it's certainly more interesting than printer paper.

Thanks for this! I've come across a box with two of your "boxes" as the box and lid, but your lid is much cooler.
My lid turned out to be a little off-centre, though, 'cause it didn't fit at first.
Need more practice.

Awesome tutorial, but I cannot make the spiral for the life of me >.<
I found making the box really easy, but I'm just stumped on the lid, even after watching the video.
I guess I'll have to just have a ton of lidless boxes lol

Loucife In reply to Zephyr-song [2007-12-25 01:37:05 +0000 UTC]
xP Well what are you having trouble with exactly? I might be able to help ^__^ And you could always make two boxes, one slightly bigger so you can use it as the lid.
