Description
In an alternate universe, the British were successful in taking over the Viceroy of Rio de la Plata during the Napoleonic Wars. Resulting in Spain giving up it's colony to the British at the end of the war since Napoleon never betrayed his alliance with Spain. This nation would eventually become a great diverse country within South America and the Southern Hemisphere in general.Eventually the British from the alternate world gave the name of the colony "Plata" since it was the name that the settlers had given it, which in translation in Spanish means silver. This alternate nation was so diverse and bilingual since it official languages is English and Spanish, the Spanish speaking Platans ARE IN FACT loyal to Britain since where Plata came from it faced itself being surrounded by nations being run by dictators, thus showing that Spanish speaking Platans absolutely hated the other Latin American countries like Brazil, Peru, Chile, Bolivia, Colombia, etc. since they felt that they were failed states (at same feeling sorry for the people having to live in nations where the leaders have no clue to run a democracy let alone civil rights). Even Spanish speaking Platans were loyal to Britain in both World War I and World War II, in fact Plata even sent over many Spanish Platans to France during the Invasion of Normandy.
But what made Plata the most unique child to the former British Empire is that it was literally a diverse nation, it had immigrants coming from Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Greece, Sweden, etc. Making it the most diverse dominion in the former British Empire. Many of Platans have mix of many ancestries such as English, Irish, Spanish, Welsh, Italian, Swedish, Dutch, German, Mapuche, and many various others. Many families have for generations been very diverse for instance it isn't surprising for someone to have English, Spanish, German and Italian ancestry.
This pretty much made the nation in 2nd place after the United States, since Plata was a melting pot nation since its beginning. Because unlike other British dominions and colonies, Plata wasn't a place for only British to settle, it was a place for everyone to settle in. However it came to nations apart of the Commonwealth of Nations and former British Empire, Plata had grudges and often hated South Africa (during Apartheid) and for a long time relations between Australia and Plata were uncommon due to Platans being very much against the White Australia Policy and Stolen Generations, it was until Plata and Australia got to form more stronger relationships once the White Australia Policy finally came to an end in the early 1970's.
Plata was the prodigy child of Britain and Spain, it was more developed than OTL Argentina (and Uruguay which is a province of Plata), it was more equal when it came to civil rights, Spanish and English speakers co-existed and even in many cases intermarried creating the "Anglospanish" people (who are a majority of the population of Plata making up 83% of ancestry). The country of Plata was everything that Argentina was not.
But things suddenly and randomly change on June 14th of 1982...
It was a day after Plata completely became independent from the United Kingdom, after Queen Elizabeth signed the Plata Act, allowing Plata to be able no longer have the British be in charge of allowing laws to be made in Plata (Basically same thing of the OTL Canada Act). Platans together saw a bright future ahead for their diverse and beautiful nation even the Spanish and English speakers celebrated together when the Plata Act was passed.
But then the entire alternate nation is transported to our world on June 14th, 1982. The day when the Falkland Wars came to an end and the day Argentina lost it's claims on the Falkland Islands. But things are starting to get more interesting as two different Argentinas meet FACE TO FACE WITH EACH OTHER!
How will Argentines react to this entirely different Argentina? How will Platans react to Argentina?
Well that is up for the readers like you to decide what is going to be the outcome of this ISOT.
