First ever tutorial! I had no idea they were that hard to make.
I think it's good but kinda messy. I've made an action to make my life easier which does most of the boring work for the sprites. You can download it here. I hope this tutorial and action will prove useful to someone! If you use it (either the tut or action) do share what you've made. I'd love to see it.

the shadow from the tower doesnt follow the form of the rock, it would dip down a little bit and not be completely diagonal, but other than that i love this tutorial, very helpful

As for the tutorial, I used to work with sprites too. Making your own original sprites can be a pain in the butt, especially if you don't know what you're doing. But using sprites that already exist can be really fun.
