Description
A huge storm struck, and I saw this poor little bird sitting there soaking wet and shivering. At first, I thought it was dead, then it moved, and I gently picked it up.I brought it inside and gently held it against my chest until it was warm (Between my boobs and my hand) - it finally stopped shivering. I got a soft cloth and started to dry off its feathers - once it was feeling better I put it in a small container, with holes in the top with a towel and a little food to wait out the storm.
The little sparrow dried off nicely, and the storm is past and it is nice and warm outside.
Know what's really adorable? The little Sparrow sat on my finger for a minute or so, looking at me, before it cheeped, spread its wings, and flew away. ^.^
I think I saved its life, if I'd left it there on the sidewalk shaking and soaked, it would have died.
Isn't it the cutest little bird? x3
( says it's a housefinch but I'm too lazy to edit the whole paragraph xD)

That's a house finch, I should know I used to own one. 3 They are totally adorable, I think they're the cutest birds ever, no others compare.

Ah I thought it was a sparrow, but I'm not an expert on birds. I just knew it needed help and that I couldn't leave it out there to die. It's happy and free now, with a story to tell its fellow birds! ^.^

The girls do look a lot like sparrows, heck most female birds look the same. Cause when they sit on a nest all the time it's better to match the nest I guess. XD
Normally I advise against taking birds in unless you know what you're doing, but this was obviously a good decision to make. It's a good thing you didn't take time or debate on it either, some people would have hesitated thinking they'd get something if they touched it.

I had that brief thought, what if it had some sort of parasite - but I realized I didn't care. I can wash my hands, I can wash the towels it touches, no problem there.
I just knew the best way to warm it up was with my body temperature, i was sitting there for a good half hour gently holding the little shivering creature between my boobs (figured my boobs were best - the bird would have the most contact with my body heat) till she stopped shivering.
I figured I oughta let her go ASAP, because I hear wild birds tend to die if kept in captivity, so I waited for the storm to pass, and let her free.
I swear, I think she thanked me. I think that's why she looked at me and cheeped. ^^

It might have been a juvi, I can't really tell from the picture cause your hand covers most of the body. It might have been the first storm it ever had to weather out of the nest, I'd imagine it'd be hard for them to get their bearings then. Or it ran into your house, I've had a lot of juvis do that, they often sit there for a few minutes wondering why the fuck they stopped moving. XDDD
An adult bird, oh yeah it'd probably kill itself or hurt itself trying to get back out in the wild, but a juvi.. I don't know it would be possible. I mean I know it's possible if you raise one, I've done it with my finch. But the only reason I kept him was his lack of fear and love for people, I think he would have died out in the wild. Birds are better wild anyways. :3
She probably did, I think birds are more aware than we give them credit for.

That's possible too *nodnod* Either way, it's a safe, unhurt birdie x3
After saving that little bird, I want a pet bird xD

I highly advise against buying birds, unless you're willing to get one young and raise it. I bought two adult budgies once and they hated me forever, finally I gave them back to the store because it wasn't fun trying to take care of them or even have them in the same room as me. Store bought birds suck a whole nother kind of shit.

Yeah I wouldn't buy an adult bird, I'd buy a baby and raise it myself. That way it'd bond to me fully - I want to try to get a Cockatoo ^^
