Description Been really busy lately but I finally got a break and managed to get the base for two Repulsers cut out. It was a bit of an adventure, as about 2 cuts into the first one the blade on the bandsaw finally snapped, so I had to change to a jigsaw. It cut alot slower but I was able to get into the details with it.

They are cut out of a .22 inch thick 24x48 peice of acrylic that I cut in half and laminated with superglue. They both weigh about a pound, a bit more than the wooden elucidator.

It's been an adventure so far, we shall see how the rest of it goes, let me know what you think.

What I did was paint the silver first everywhere it needed to be. After it dried enough I masked off the edges with masking tape, the beige stuff, then sprayed it with black. When you then remove the tape it leaves a clean line.

I bought mine from home depot in something like a 4x8' sheet at .22 inches thick. I had to cut this in half then laminate it together with superglue, which caught plenty of air bubbles. Didn't turn out too great, but it worked for the time and I had enough for 2-3 swords for $60. What I would recommend doing if you're set on this is ordering a custom size sheet of either 3/8 or 1/2 inch thick clear acrylic from TAP plastics, a very good dealer that lets you order custom sizes. Every other plastic manufacturer I've seen only allows order of either 4x4' or 4x8' peices which can easily run for hundreds of dollars. A sheet large enough for a sword like this would run around 40 bucks from TAP.

One thing to note is that this plastic is extremely hard, I had problems shaping it with carbide dremel bits. So if you're going to be using hand tools, I suggest using wood.
