Description
Just a ladybug I saw when I went biking once. There was also a dead rabbit on the ground under it but I didn't take a picture of that.Related content

I love the bright colors. They add a lot. Have you looked at this one in black and white though? Just a suggestion.

I try all of my photographs in black and white and with this one, I remember, the ladybug didn't stand out enough against the bright color of the leaves and I didn't want to have to dull the brilliant color of those! I think, also, I am just too attracted to bright colors!

This is a great shot.
I thought the bit about the rabbit was interesting too
ok (puts on science geek hat). You can't tell a male and female ladybug apart from colors. They are going to use pheromones more then color for mating. I did check a couple websites to make sure I was right.
I thought this was sort of funny: [link]

Ah! I see... thanks for the information. Ha! So if I ever find a ladybug atop another then I know it must be the male on top. :duh:

I believe it to be a... guy? Don't males usually have the brighter colors? You know... to attract?

Thanks!
And I thought the bit about the rabbit was interesting. It was what prevented me from getting a closer shot of the ladybug. Or more like it's smell is what prevented me from getting a closer shot of the ladybug. Heh...
