Description:
Alright, I've finally pulled myself together to get back on learning and polishing my 3D skills, which will become useful for both game modding as well as my profession. I've spend a good hour testing shapes and stuff before getting this result. Which, if I should say so myself, is quite accurate so far. Haven't gotten around doing much of the model yet, but I intend to take good time and get this as detailed as possible while maintaining the original appearance and stay as close to the reference as possible.
Be aware that this is a high-poly WIP and texturing will come once the model itself is completed (and very likely a low-poly version as well to import into Skyrim for example). The purple surface is the color applied to the poly, no material added.
I WOULD have put this in 3d fan art subcategory, if one such had existed.
Updates:
v0.2: Created and shaped the grip and pommel. Waiting with the wrapping on the grip. Rain-guard incomplete.
v0.1: Created and shaped the cross-guard upper section.

A: Well, I've tried a few shapes before this result, spend 1 hour on it so far mostly experimenting.
