Description:
I as a heterosexual male can now present you with my first female fan service in years. (Yeah, I actually have drawn female fan service art before, but it's a long time ago - some of my older fans might remember).
Shirtless Link.. what else could a fan girl ask for. Wait, no.. I withdraw that question.. and don't ask me to do any yaoi crap . I would never in a lifetime ever draw something like that, so forget it.
This is also for those who didn't believe I could draw males as well.. well, obviously I can, but in the same manner I draw females... I believe "attractive" is the word I'm looking for.
That said, this is just a sketch - if you decide to comment, at least consider that this is JUST a sketch and in no way the finished product, I'll ink this eventually and color it.

Nice! Although, I do have to point out that his hair is going in the wrong direction. Also, it certainly looks like this was drawn by a hetero guy, lol. Needs a bit more oomph and a bit more sexy. He looks kinda uncomfortable. I did a nude drawing of Link with Calvin Klein in mind. If you need to draw fan service using male chars, I highly suggest looking at male underwear models to help out.

Oh dear gods no, a nitpick. I am aware that his hair is going the "wrong" direction. Definitely don't agree on the looks uncomfortable part. It is quite different from person to person what we consider sexy, I personally don't see a need to go over the top to reach what I was aiming for here.

Wow, aren't you sensitive. You're only saying that 'cause Link isn't your type. All your female work say completely otherwise. You're quite the hypocrite, lol. You could've at least showed some interest, which nothing here including your artist comments indicates. If I wanted to draw fan service for guys, I would actually do some research so I can make something interesting than half assing it like what you did here, and half assing is exactly what you did: a lackluster, uninspired piece with an uncomfortable, vacant expression with a pose that's as generic as generic gets.
I was trying to be helpful, but apparently you really need a dose of reality check, don't you? I don't understand why you even bother drawing something at all if you're just gonna draw something so basic that half the art students can already draw by their senior year in high school. Get real, dude.

Well, first of all, I didn't say what I preferred, I told you what I would do, which was research. As a gay person, I have to find out what body type guys drool over. I didn't say there was anything bad about this, and as your description said, it's not the finished product, that's why I said it could use a little more oomph and sexy to it. But his pose is generic, so you might as well make it as sexy as possible, at least that's how I feel. I looked at some of your inked Link stuff, and those have so much more character to them.

Well, I just didn't want to go over the top. I wanted it to be casual, and I'm sad it doesn't appear that way to you. This is not to target your sexual orientation, but I have to be honest here, this is first and foremost targeted at the female audience and whether or not they like it, just like it is for you, is for them to decide. I haven't inked this yet because I actually wasn't sure if I'd stick with the pose. But it definitely wasn't because I thought it was too generic - I don't want to exaggerate the pose just to show off my artistic skill.

I see. Yeah, I totally get what you mean by exaggerated poses. There are times when I feel like I'm overdoing something, but it doesn't take long for me to find someone with a style that likes to exaggerate poses in a zoomed perspective. Personally I really hate that. This so far looks pretty safe. I get that you'd wanna be a bit conservative, and it was one reason it took me years before I ever did any male pinups or nude drawings, but in the end, it's my art, and I wanna draw what I want, and we shouldn't inhibit ourselves because of how others might react to it or because it may feel like showing off. Art's about expressing yourself and what you can do with it, and Frank Frazetta said something really amazing; I wish I could find the quote, but he was saying that you shouldn't change who you are as an artist or water down your style or your ideas. That philosophy is reflected clearly in his subject matter: loincloth men and bikini women 24/7, and now he's an iconic figure. In the end it's your artwork, but you definitely shouldn't inhibit yourself because you feel like you'd be showing off. The art we admire are done by artists who don't restrict their abilities. In any case, sorry for the mini lecture, but you're a good artist, and you should follow the path you want to do without second guessing yourself for one reason or another. Just go for it, and figure out where to go after.

That's where you're wrong. I'm far more experienced with drawing girls, besides, it's a common fact that it's easier to draw girls because of their feminine lines and round curves. Never the less, I can draw both males and females just fine.
