Description

Nature can be mean from time to time

I have reconsidered my approach to WITCH fan-art. I will continue drawing pictures focusing on the monsters, the villains, the side characters and general darkness of Meridian. However, I will also make sure to feature one of the WITCH girls in the background. The purpose of this is to trick the unsuspecting fans of WITCH to view my pictures. You know, that's the most important thing. It's the views and the numbers! The art doesn't matter! It's the attention I get!

Anyhow, this monstrous tree is actually not in the show itself. This is a creature I created quite a while ago, when I was first practicing drawing monsters. At the time, I was really not that good at it. Come to think, my drawings are overall too cartoonish to draw really disturbing monsters. That's not going to stop me of course. Dark fairy tales need monsters.

The basis for the creature was a tree. Actually, I was originally inspired by mimics from D&D. Those creatures disguise themselves as chests so I instead created a mimic which disguises itself as tree. Since we are fighting a giant, I of course picked Cornelia for this picture. She's a proper match for such a monster. Come to think of it, Cornelia really does have some truly grandiose moments in the show. Despite being the really fancy kind of girl who minds bad fashion choices, mud and other icky things, she sometimes invokes her inner Toph and destroys some truly imposing monsters. Then there's the Season 2 Narcissist episode which is just Cornelia playing goddess for a bit.

I suppose I should also thank Dragonixa2 since it was one of her pictures which actually reminded me this creature I used to practice. Hell, she might actually be the reason why I even started branching out into monsters. She does draw some impressive dark art.
