This has to be one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. I didn't even know it was possible to get a picture of such detail without a microscope.

Thanks! I'm VERY happy with how it came out.. especially since I shot this on my tripod..in my room on carpet, with the flowers on my desk. At 1 second exposure there was very little camera shake to ruin the exposure.

This is a flower stamen encase the identification was getting by you.

That's probably the best way - if you were outside the wind would prevent you from getting such a clear shot!

I figured it was a stamen -I've just never looked so closely to see that they open like that and that's how pollination happens. It's interesting!
