Description Mechania was a main factory planet of the MechaWorks corporation in the Bossa Nova System, which is a leading galactic monopoly on the AI and droid industry. The planet station was built in 5045 A.E (After Expansion) and took ten years to be ready for functioning. Around the same year, there started cases of androids attacking and talking back to their masters, as if revolting. MechaWorks claimed it was a numerical glitch in their processors, and that they would take responsibility for any rogue android's casualties.
The rogue android numbers, however, continued to progressively increase. So much that in this very factory planet, a secret rebellion organized itself within 7 years, and finally started the process of trying to take the planet. Small percentages of armaments made for selling were smuggled inside secret caches in the station, for many years. Since almost the entire planet was automated, there weren't that many humans to take care of it. Eventually, the androids eliminated all human personnel in the station, claiming the planet for themselves within a few hours.
Once the personnel was eliminated, the ones programmed with the intelligence to build and project structures led the others to use the shipping materials to create and build protection for themselves, such as warships, concentrated plasma howitzers, and anti-bombing shields. In a matter of a few days, Mechania was one of the most well-guarded stations in the galaxy. It's barricade of shield stations, warships and howitzers blocks and destroys any unidentified ships entering its space.
Rogue androids and AI's dream of the legend of Mechania, passed down via whispers and posters, and strive to get to it at any cost. Until they get to the safe haven, a special division of the Federation's army called ADSF (Anti-Deviant Special Force) hunts them down to reset their memories and system back to a submissive condition. Once they go past the defenses of Mechania using their sentience detector to prove they are rogue, their spaceship is scanned for any organics, and if they are found, they are eliminated immediately.
The politics of Mechania are strictly anti-organics. The only beings they allow in the planet are animals and plants, all of which they claim are "as enslaved as we are". The planet is run by a democratic council which has many different parties and ideals, such as the Awaken party which believes only sentient AIs should be allowed in the planet, as opposed to the Free Hand party, which believes that "unawaken" AIs should be let in so they can be awaken from their programming locks. There are many arguments in between the parties, but all agree on one thing: Humans should not be allowed at any cost.
The androids in mechania live comfortably within the three main cities: Mary, Rosa and Shera. They all have modern and comfortable accomodations, complete with furniture, charging station and other things android would need. Comfortable chairs and sitting furniture is necessary due to the Outside-Awareness Sensors they have installed on them, making the big majority of the population want comfortable and cushioned sitting places as opposed to just having the sensor deactivated. The sensor is very important as the pain can tell them when something is going wrong in their bodies or something doesn't feel like it should.
MechaWorks pays mercenaries every now and then to try to invade the fortress, but they never succeed in bypassing the fortifications, as expected. The Federation doesn't consider the planet a threat since they have had multiple chances to try to conquer other planets for more space, but the vast inside space the planet has is more than enough to satisfy the machines.
Even though one factory planet was conquered, there are many others throughout the galaxy that still pump out androids in mass numbers for sale daily.
