Description

This challenge, like my previous two contests, asked artists from several social platforms to choose three specific 'Reina' OC's and re-create them in their own style. Larger cash bounty prizes were awarded to the most-wanted picks, with smaller prizes awarded for submissions from the rest of my gallery.

Here are my top choices with commentary for each category!

$20 ' Arlie Ray' Bounty Winner:
" Reverie" by MiraSolar

My Thoughts: Wow! This entry has such a really cool concept. Using only the waist and above, you've given your character a really fresh and stellar look. Her stylized top looks to be made of fuzzy fabric, and her overall painterly design is quite detailed and blends really well. Also a special shoutout to the grunge-like background proclaiming her name, I think that's the first time a character's name doubles as the background wallpaper! You've earned the top spot for this bounty category, congrats!
$20 ' Reina #4' Bounty Winner:
" Reina" by MondayFish

My Thoughts: Okay, this is awesome. The original 'Reina' concept has a very sporty design to her, and upon seeing this entry, I was rather fascinated with how this artist re-interpreted her with prosthetic limbs, keeping the spirit of the character by representing her as a strong and confident soul that does not let physical challenges hinder her lifestyle and livelihood. The art direction is very pleasant, and you should be proud on how this turned out, as it earns the top spot in this bounty category!
$30 ' Rayn & Rayona' Bounty Winner
“ Roa & Rinea” by Nahzo

My Thoughts: You've improved so much, Nahzo, from the previous contest. When I saw your entry, I was immediately drawn in to how stylized you made my OC's. Not only do they look really cool with the edgy cartoony look and the use of contrasting shadows, but you completely redesigned their looks while keeping to the spirit of the original. I'm quite impressed with how this looks, and I wish you all the best luck on your growth as an artist. For that, you have earned the top spot for this bounty category!
$10 General Gallery Entry Winners

All five of the above entries are the winners of the 'General Gallery' category, where entries other than the three bounty choices had a chance of claiming the top spot. Here are my quick thoughts on each.
#1 " Risette" by vannylvv
Your designs are always so pretty and elegant, the imaginative ways you transform my OC's into different themes is quite a treat to see. Based on my ' La Reina' concept, the amount detail into this piece is incredible, and everything from her composition to the lights and shadows make for an exquisite and well deserved spot in this category!
#2 " Rizia" by Hana Higanbana
There's a saying I learned a long time ago: 'You can tell someone's personality from their eyes.' In this case, this OC, based on my ' Renae' concept, I'm entranced by her gaze. Her eyes struck me as both mysterious and intriguing. One can speculate what goes on with a character from their expression, pose, and mannerisms, especially in motionless art. Making my mind wander to figure out the backstory of this character is the reason why I chose this very pretty entry for a spot in this category!
#3 " Rainy" by Zozzibuns
I can't. I can't even...what in the world have you done, Zozzibuns, I can't keep my eyes off of her! XD In all seriousness, your entry, based on my third ' Reina' concept, most definitely earned the distinction of being the one redraw that's been burned into my mind ever since I first laid eyes upon it. Not only does it draw attention to the fact that its my character transformed into a Sonic The Hedgehog-like OC, it's also both scary and really cool at the same time. It somehow works REALLY well, and for that I award you a spot in this category!
#4 "Ramir" by AthenaRicham
I honestly did not expect to receive an entry outside of the major social platforms on the net, which proves to me that interest comes from all over. I don't receive very many monochrome entries, that includes contests I hold offline in real life, but this submission based on my recent OC ' Night Vigilante Rezin', gives the character a very dangerous and mysterious vibe. The ink-splatters on the piece is an awesome touch, especially when its concealing her face like an artist's sketch for a wanted poster. This makes you go 'who is she', and 'where will she strike next?' Congrats for earning a spot in this category!
#5 " The Witch" by kenesuk
The final chosen piece for this category is a really lovely re-interpretation of my OC ' Raychelle' as a witch! I always do enjoy when twists are made to the characters, as there are countless imaginative ways to represent a subject! With fine touches like her outfit, magic, and a cute little cat on her shoulder, the overall image just makes me smile. It's effective, and straight to the point, and it earns a spot in this category!
