The iconic handgun of Vash the Stampede from Trigun.I had an image similar to this favourited and I just got a resin model of the gun for use in cosplay in a couple of weeks so I thought I'd test my modelling skills once more and I'm very happy with the results.
It's not completely accurate but it's close enough for my liking.
All made in 3dsmax 7 with final render sp2d (both metal and toon shaders)
*edit* R.I.P Vash gun! It got broken in half at the so this picture is a dedication to it's former glory.

is ther any shader or renderer similar for 3DS max 2008 or 2009?

Yes. Final Render is already available for all versions of max from 6 right up to 2009.
It's just a bit fiddley to get them working properly.

Found a guy on the web who had bought one and was making recast resin models of his own to sell (you can't get the original ones from [link] as they've not made them for years and you can only get them in japan) but I've completely forgotten the website. He also sold a Blade Runner pistol and seom stuff from original battlestar galactica I think so that should help narrow your search.

If you look around your forum you'll see I already have. It shouldn't be a problem making a low poly version so long as someone knows how to put it into HL2 for me.

I just can't get enough of Trigun fanart. IT's why I'm doing an advanced google search for Trigun fanart in Deviant-art specifically.
It's gotten a couple of pretty good results, including this!

Well once I get to it you'll see a couple more Trigun stuff from me. Just this second arrived back from Ayacon 2005 in Coventry and I was cosplaying as Vash.
Once the photos are developed I shall be posting them up in my gallery.
