Description
My submission to the latest DA contest. It made me wonder how is it technically possible to develop different personas or personalities, if it can alter the way a person's brain physically looks like. That's why I went for the brain-ish visual feel to the artwork, making it look like 2 brain hemispheres fighting.I bet that most people can't even begin to imagine how does it feel to live with the mental struggle of having different personalities but perhaps anyone can sometimes feel like we have at least 2 different things pulling us apart from the inside. Be it the stereotypical pull between heart or brain, or something deeper like a pull between healthy coping skill and unhealthy one. That may feel like we have different persons inside of us, one which makes good healthy choices and other that makes all the wrong choices.

This is the one thing I found worth looking at for a while today, despite not being in the mood for art. It's got great impart, and I believe you conveyed your intentions very well. I love the color duality and how that balances nicely. Very inspiring!
The structure's fine appearance is sort of simple (bubble bubble bubble...endless bubble) but very effective. The weird lines (from your bubble technique??) are kind of messy and detract from the beauty of the rest of the figure, though I don't know how much you could do about that. The rendering looks alittle grainy from the blurring techniques, so the image doesn't have a nice crisp clean polish. The feel is a bit dulled or softened overall.
In short, I think you did a great job!

The actual definiton of fractals is that it is a self-similar pattern, or (simply put) endlessly repeating pattern, so that's why you see repeating bubbles there

This is a beautifull drawing! The colours you used are really beautifull, the orange and purple colours really pop out with the black background. It's also a really original, because the drawing has a deaper meaning behind it, I'm not that good with deaper meanings, but I still understand what you're explaining. I don't have a mental health problem myself, but my body doesn't work properly. I been watching you for a while and im always impressed by your work, and this one is no different.
From a Gamer's perspective, this scene reminds me of Halo 3, going into fighting the flood. You created something that many gamers would find amazing since it looks like playable map to run around it
Pros: The light source is in the center and its consist throughout the image and creates a diverse amounts of values. The color is very eye-catching since its opposite on the color wheel. I see you took a lot into consideration when deciding how to combine the colors very well and you did it perfectly.
Cons: There just isn't anything i can find that ruins the image even a bit.

Typically, I don't tamper with raw fractals once they come out of Apophysis but this time I did work a lot on the colors in post-process to split the image in 2 visual halves, so I'm glad to hear that the effort shows. Please do feel free to add any cons, I'm always looking for a way to improve and get better in future

Having submitted my critique, DA won't let me edit it. I should have clarified and acknowledged that the sharp-edged curls/bubble edges fulfilled your theme but as a feature of the work I found it displeasing.

I believe most of us have at least two minds.Β Some have stronger meta-processes that act as the traffic cop for the competition for consciousness.Β I think this image portrays that tension and dance that we all experience at times.Β I think we are best served when the two minds can become friends.Β It is not necessary to be absolutely "one".Β With two competing thought processes, we can simultaneously present thesis and antithesis, or alternate thesis altogether.Β Β At some point a decision must be made.Β This is where our third mind, our meta-mind usually takes hold.Β So the concept of "me" is less about a single personality, but more about the relationship of my many.Β Best Regards.Β Β Β

I agree! I also think it depends on which aspects of mind we analyze. I think that in some cases it may indeed be beneficial to erase a dysfunctional half, as I said with clearly healthy versus unhealthy coping skills. If we talk about healthy aspects of one's mind, I am usually proponent of multiplicity of views, a person can have different aspects that can be paradoxical yet perhaps that may be the best ground for creating truly exceptional personhood.
