Description
Software used: ApophysisI was up to creating a flower on white background. That effort was doomed when I accidently inverted the colours
Anyway, everything is quite fine this summer. There is much hope and happiness in my life now but also a little bit of fear ( - see that black hole in the middle of the petal? yeah, that's it)...
I just baked a gluten-free bread in my oven

Hello Julian,
thank you very much for this thorough and very thoughtful critique.
I have a few things to discuss but overall I am amazed how you named exactly the weak points that I agree with.
I named it Stardust because of all the glittering dust around the flower, to make people focus on that. The stardust is supposed to represent the hopefullnes and happines with sort of magical feeling associated with stars, falling stars and fullfilled wishes. It is somehow refering to one of my favourite movies - Stardust. Well, my vision is always there, only I often fail to show it so people could actually see it
Originality totally sucks here, I would give myself 1/5 for that but man, I just love this particular style of flowers... :/
The red dot. It somehow pushes buttons in people. I like order and the red dot really bugs me. I could get a rid of it in one second, it is no way a big deal. I kept it there to see if people would ask about that. And I kept it there to remind me of my own flaws, to question myself what is a flaw, what things I should and could get rid of, what do I hide and why do I hide it...
Thank you again for your thoughts!

Thanks for your feedback!
Well, I have failed in seeing the hope and happiness in the stardust as it seems^^ Maybe because you mentioned that your feelings are mainly happiness but also some fear while the picture's content is mostly fear and a relative little happiness-representation... But your right, this symbol makes really more sense now and would push my rating probably to 4.5/5 instead of 3.5/5...
I wouldn't say originality sucks here. I don't see this motive that much often and even if you are using the motive yourself sometimes, I think with the noted alterations it is at least average originality (which would be 2.5/5 in my opinion. So, as you additionally changed almost all details and it's still fitting, I think 3/5 would be reasonable. You can't just make something new all the time.
Well, I rated it as a fractal representing feelings, not as a still-life or modern-art that wants to make the viewer think... so I kind of failed to see the meaning behind the spot. Not that I don't like the idea behind it but in my opinion this picture is "too valuable" for experiments than those.
This idea remind me also of a nice submission submitted some time ago: [link] although the meaning and use is different in this context, it is also a very thoughtful and plays with details and disturbances.
But I'm glad you found the critique helpful and of course it is your choice what of and how you are weighting my opinion.^^

Thanks Well, the only accident happened during the post-process with colors but I suppose that counts too

I'm not normally a fan of fractal art, but this one really got - and held - my attention. Beautiful!
