Description
Third and final project for my Special Problems I class. Title is named after the song “Fortress” by Diplo, Joeski, and Rhye.Kind of an experiment to see if I could lol, and I didn’t have enough time to do something relevant to my little universe, so I decided on a self-portrait. Effectively, this is a subtractive-method piece: I used sandpaper, erasers, and an etching needle to draw into a layer of dark ink wash.
Not much else to say beyond that. But it turned out well.
Materials used: 17”x27” Arches watercolor paper, black India ink wash, etching needle, Tombow Mono Colored Pencil Eraser (gritty eraser), kneaded eraser, sandpaper.
